With the official release of the BlackBerry Torch 9800 today also came the Official OS 126.96.36.199 from AT&T. This isn't really needed all that much, simply because the Torch 9800 came pre-shipped with it, aside from creating a backup in case AT&T's website goes haywire or your phone goes haywire. This is almost (I say almost because it's still important to the ones who want to wipe their 9800's for example just to play with it or merely want a backup of the OS available.) more for those hybrid makers out there looking for better software to make hybrids out of. I'd love to see a killer hybrid for my 8520 *wink* *wink*!
Anyhow, you can download the OS over at AT&T's website using the new specified location just for the Torch. Remember though, have fun you lucky Torch owning BlackBerry addicts!
I purchased the 9800 yesterday. I went against my cardinal rule on buying a product as soon as it comes out. However, I must say this phone is the BOMB!!!! I've been playing with it since I got it and I can't find (as of now) anything negative to complain about. The call quality is great, and the screen res. is awsome.
I love my new torch, but the OS seems like a beta OS to me. My Bold 9700 with the latest leak was actually more stable than this OS.
It has plenty of memory space, but reaction time is pretty slow and I know RIM can increase this with some code changes in the OS. Also I am having a strange problem where my 3 email accounts are not updating the general message box, instead they are getting separated into each folder, and yes I have checked the inbox options and they are all checked to be included in the main box.
Oh well, here's to looking forward to the next OS leak for the torch!
