I just changed the OS on my 9780 and BBSAK didn't have an option to restore apps and the DM says the back up is corrupted. WTH, oh well, hopefully I can get things back through BB protect.

Hello OriginalLucy, good to see you
I have provided you 2 screen shots of BBSAK latest version 1.9.2 showing you there is an option to back up your applications, and to restore them after you have successfully upgraded/downgraded your device's OS.
Another tool which is available, called BBHTool v2.4.9.7a, is what I use, but it may be advanced for some users.
Please use caution when using third party tools such as these, if not used properly, may cause your BlackBerry device to not function normally afterward.
Thank you.

Thank you grimreaper, I had an older version of BBSAK, which didn't have a restore apps button. thank you very much for posting. I got the newer version and donated, so I will try to get my backups back. cheers
Anytime OriginalLucy, it's my pleasure to assist you.
When a BlackBerry user has an issue with any third party tool (such as my fave BBHTool v2.4.9.7a), I always suggest they have the latest version installed as it usually has several fixes, and other added features.
Also, I always highly suggest to everyone to backup their BlackBerry device, using either BlackBerry Desktop Manager for PC v7.1.0.32 (which is the latest as of July 23, 2012).
If you need any other assistance, please reply back anytime.
Thank you.
