Thread: 9780 + os 7

Hi everyone,

I have a bold 9780 which has some bluetooth connectivity issues to my hands free car system.

I have read other posts on this subject about using a different OS, I tried (and failed) to cut in the Bluetooth files from the 339 software version using BBSAK as recommended by one of your users.

However I was wondering is it possible to load OS 7 onto this handset? Its probably a silly question! but thought I would ask and if this would solve my bluetooth connectivity problems.

Unfortunately Bold 9780 isn't compatible with OS 7.
About Bluetooth issue,Which release of OS do you use ?

I use 448 OS on Vodafone UK. Any help would be much appreciated!

I suggest updating your OS to 6.0.0.668 .It's perfect & was released by Vodafone UK.You can download it from here

Thanks i will give that a try tonight and see if i can connect to bluetooth afterwards.

Waiting your feedback

You can also contact the maker of the device you are trying to connect via Bluetooth to and ask them what OS they recommend to use that will work with their device.

668 is no better! It still will not connect to my Land Rover Discovery. Grrrrrrrrr

However there is now the following error on reboot:

Uncaught exception:java.lang.NullPointer Exception

Any other ideas?

I think this error may be solved by re-installing the OS.

I have reloaded it twice! Still the same error. The vodafone version must be unstable?

Any further ideas?

It's working for me well so far without any errors.Did you wipe & re-install ? or re-installed it without wiping ?

I did not wipe it first. That is probably the problem. I will do that then reload and see if it works.

Ok.I'm waiting

OK, so I wiped it, reloaded the OS from Vodafone UK and same problems:

Error on Reboot:
Uncaught exception:java.lang.NullPointer Exception

Bluetooth connection to car still does not work.

Maybe I should just give up and get a different phone!
