Thread: Weird issue with .461 :

Just had an awkward situation happen on my phone.

1. Installed new Twitter Beta 1.1.0.16. Asked for a reboot, so I rebooted.
2. Once the phone was passed the Blackberry OS screen, I noticed something very wrong.
3. All my applications were gone, BBM messages were gone, some folders were gone as well.

Now once I saw this, I thought that it fully uninstalled the applications and deleted the folders. Come to find out, all of the modules etc were still listed in the application management tab, but were nowhere to be found on the OS home screen or downloads. Good thing I had done a backup of my applications with BBsak.

1. Restored applications via BBsak.
2. Went back to BB beta zone and re-downloaded Twitter 1.1.0.16.
3. Manually typed that long code that is emailed to you, because for some reason copy / paste did not work within the application.
4. End result, now everything is back to functioning normal.

I do not know if it was Twitter itself, but on reboot for them to disappear and Twitter to be the sole application remaining, was a little awkward. Any more information / issues I encounter I will post.

I also do not know if it was the OS itself, as I have not encountered any issues like this before.

I've had a few of my apps disappear also

After all of this as well I did a battery pull to test if it would delete my applications, BBM messages and folders. Nothing was deleted on that pull, even did another one with QuickPull just in case. Nothing deleted.. Very random, very damaging, very interesting issue to have encountered.

Just finished doing a reboot on the phone again, after installing an application. Once it finished rebooting, apps were gone, themes were gone, etc. I believe this version of .461 to be unusable in its current condition, especially if you ever reboot your device. It just seems to have some major issues here that I cannot figure out, so back to .448 I go.

*Update* .. I really do not know what to think of this, but I utilized BBsak, wiped my device, restored my older apps. Did an install of BBM 5.0.2.11, everything was fine. Installed the Beta Twitter application and magically my applications deleted again.. Now it also seemed to take an insurmountable amount of time to install, which was awkward in itself. But once done, I had my apps disappear all over again..

Twitter maintained, everything else disappeared.. This Twitter application seems to be a root cause to my magically disappearing / uninstalling themes / apps... -_-

Got to be frustrating, thanks for reporting.

Frustrated at first yeah, but coming from a tinkerer its just another day of issues in an OS I chose to spear head into and test. LoL Same thing with my Android tinkering, primary pc OS tinkering etc. No problem though, reverted back to .448 and non issue. I have not tried re-installing the Twitter beta, just due to the issues reported before. :P

I enjoy tinkering myself.
