Thread: How to install OS 6 for my 9700?

I'm using my Blackberry Bold 9700, and my current OS is OS 5.0.3... can anyone teach me how to install this using my pc? i am already downloading the OS 6.0.0.600

Hi! does it really takes time to back up the apps on 3rd party Application on BBSAK? i'm quite confused that the BBSAK is always hanged.. thanks

Shafter, I've never used bbsak except to delete certain cod files, so I can't help you there. You can create a backup of your apps using the DM though and that's a very easy process. For me, I usually just do an os upgrade using the DM alone: download the new os to my laptop, delete the vendor file (very important!), connect my phone via usb, open up the DM and follow the prompts to load the new os that is found available. With this process the DM will ask if you want to backup all data (I click yes) and then it reloads apps and data settings automatically after it loads the new os.

I hope your 9700 runs decent on OS6. Some people's do and some don't for some reason. My AT&T branded Bold just wouldn't run right when I upgraded some months back so I went back to 5 :-( Now just waiting for them to release a 10 device. Hope it comes soon but I'm not holding my breath
