Btw do you guys shrink your os? I find that if I don't I am left with 60mb app memory! And I only have 2bbm contacts, 400 address book entries, a handful of emails since I always delete off my device after replying/reading, around 10 additional apps and themes.. Definately less than tda who still gets 111mb after installing os6 :-(

Yes, most of us bb savvy users do the shrink.

I have a 9780 which has 512 MB of memory, after installing all my 40 apps / themes, I am left with 250 MB, plenty if you ask me.

But guess what, I shrink everytime I install an OS. Reason is, the built in introductory videos that are hidden and protected against deletion take up 23 MB by their own!!! crazy if you ask me, how RIM could use such precious space especially for devices with 256 MB of memory like the 9700 and 9300. Shrinking is vital and will make a huge difference.

MAke sure to shrink the videos in the shrink options.

USe the latest version of BB Boss 2.2.2 or BB Hybrid Tool 2.4.8 otherwise even if you select the videos in the options, nothing will happen. The latest versions fix this.

Still unable to connect to the computer using bluetooth. If i downgrade to OS5, it connects instantly.

Any ideas? Changing the drivers to standard RIM ones does not work.

If I could connect using bluetooth I could use blurts :boggled:
It seems Windows doesn't know which drivers to install for the bluetooth device.
You can try installing one manually... Usually after choosing to install manually you get a list of bluetooth drivers available. Chose one until you find one that works...

Very good advice. Sometimes just unplugging the USB cable and plugging it in another port does the trick as Windows will redetect the device and install the drivers as neccessary, it is advisable to have the BlackBerry Desktop Manager running during this step, then close it when the drive is installed and try installing the OS

the Black Berry Desktop Manager has to be closed before you run loader.exe to load the OS

Wow 512mb! *jealous* first time I did a shrink using BBBoss I kept getting 2 errors everytime I reboot and eas told its ok if I can live with it since it doesn't hamper performance. Never did figure out what caused it. The last time I did a shrink I left the advanced options alone, left English language and a font and it seems to have fixed it? Dunno or maybe coz I also left the VVM. Oh well as long as I get no errors.

Can someone share their BBBoss shrinking list? :-)

For some reason with this version, every time I pull my phone from the holster it opens up in the search screen....576 did the same thing. The only way I can stop that is to lock the phone before I put it in to the holster.

That's strange, know of any others who have the same issue?
