I've just installed this new OS. I think it doesn't work with googlesync. I've reinstalled this quite a number of times just to make sure it is the googlesync that have problem and proven it is. If anyone has any prob with their googlesync, do share ya.
right after googlesync installed, all downloads are much slower than before I installed googlesync. and the bootup is so much longer after googlesync is installed. but everything works really good without googlesync.
With this new OS, I am not able to sync my google Calendar but google contact is alright. but this might be a common prob as they are quite a number of people are not able to sync their google calendar too.
nothing much to update as it is as good as other release...of course without the googlesync for me. :)
Immediately downloaded .743 as soon as it became available. I'm not a big believer these days that the 5.0.0.xxx OSs really change much from one release to the next.
However ...
There is one cool feature with this new .743 OS that I am liking. As soon as any new email or sms comes in, there is a sn***y banner that opens at the top of my 9700 showing the incoming email or sms. Pretty cool.
I've been on the new OS now for about 24 hours. Installation went smoothly. Nothing else to report. No significant changes in battery. Did pick up a nice reserve of memory changing from .680.
Seems like a solid build. Nothing bad to report. I'd give .743 a thumbs up.
how do you get the banners? which menu? thanks, keith
Any further reports on this? Saw on other sites that some were reporting problems in locking in on signal but a faster browsing experience.
Assuming you are in your main menu screen and you receive a text or email, there is a nice banner that pops in and alerts you of the new text or email. It displays its information and then disappears. I've used every OS known for the 9700 and never had this functionality before. I did nothing to turn it on. It simply started working when I downloaded .743. I am not aware of any process that allows a user to turn this on or off at their own will. It was simply there as soon as I installed .743.
Just put this on my phone last night (Rogers Version), working great so far. Smooth!
