I have my wife downloading it for me and after I install it this evening I'll post on it. I hope its a good one though since these past updates have been crap after .442
I did an upgrade without a wipe and the device is locked up with Telenav requesting permissions. Pulled the battery and I was able to remove Telenav with the desktop manager. BBSAK wouldn't connect to the device no matter what I did. Phone rebooted and it then hung up on the AT&T boot screen. I was forced to pull the battery and use Apploader to restore the OS. I RECOMMEND a FULL wipe before installing this build.

I cant say anything bad about this OS yet. Had it installed for the last few hours great speed on 3G here in Oklahoma. I did a fresh install as I do with most all of my installs and can say every app i use daily works just fine. Twitter, Myspace(beta), Facebook, Opera, Appworld, Google Maps, Google mobile app. I guess baring that the battery life is worse than .593 I am going to keep this one for a bit.
Often on that "other site" the hysteria over new OS releases becomes just silly. All the "kids" show up and claim any new OS is either the greatest thing ever released, has cured all the evils of the world and is just amazing or they claim that it's the worst, has every bug conceivable and shouldn't ever be used. It frequently gets totally out of control over there which is one of the many reasons why I left that site.
In reality, most of these OS releases are "much ado about nothing." I've gone through every OS release possible for the 9700 (and the 8900 before it) and rarely find anything significantly changed between one OS and the next. The last os ... .593 ... was good but I could not tolerate that the speaker function was disabled in Visual Voicemail and had to roll back to .586 as a consequence. I had told myself that I'd stick with .586 for awhile but then this new .656 came out and I was bored so ... well, I grabbed it.
Any reports prior to 24 hours of use after a new OS are unrealistic. You've got to get all your 3rd party apps back up and running and get all your minor customizations set when you change OSs. You've also got to let the battery adjust to the new OS. Some may dispute this but in my experience I've found that battery pulls/boot times take longer immediately after a new OS is installed and that the battery doesn't settle down until after a day or two.
I've now been using .656 for over 24 hours. I like it. Nothing at all negative to report. Everything is working well. I saw in one person's post that there was an issue with the Twitter app not working. This has *NOTHING* to do with this OS. There is a known issue with the Twitter app across all OSs currently where if you've signed out, you cannot sign back in. It's a bug with the app and RIM/Twitter and hopefully they are working on it but people with .545, .586 and .593 are all reporting the same issues. This problem should not discourage anyone from taking a spin with this new .656 OS.
No real noticable changes with this OS. Biggest advantage is that it does free up a sizable amount of memory. I am always amazed how some of these OSs can require so much additional memory. .656 seems to be a good memory economizer. It also is a great UMA OS. I thought .545 was amazingly good grabbing and holding UMA connections. The new .656 seems to come close. I am very pleased with the ability of this OS to grab and stay connected to my UMA profiles. For this reason alone, I would recommend this OS if you are a T-Mobile customer.
Wrapping up, this OS has performed well over the last 24 hours. No bugs at all to report. Benefits are a smaller footprint on memory, good UMA connectivity, good radio connectivity, smooth operation. One of the best OS releases I've used and I've tried them all.
Known problem with RIM. Nothing to do with the OS. Being reported across the Net by people using a wide range of OSs. No one should let this issue sour them on trying .656.Quote:

As i said only hours after installing this one, I will keep it. It has been two days since I installed this and the battery life is much much much better. With .593 i was lucky to get to 5 in the evening and have 1/4 battery left, I have 3/4 a battery and not using the phone any differently than before. I would recommend again that this be installed it is far better than .593.
