    OS 5.0.0.442 Findings & Fixes

Finally breaking the short drought we're having with new OS releases. Zain Jordan, a carrier in the Middle East, and MTC Touch have officially released OS 5.0.0.442 for the Bold 9700. Hopefully this gets the ball rolling again with more OS releases. Especially for those devices that have yet to see an official OS 5.0 come out.

So far so good, signal is quite a bit stronger on ATT in Dallas. Seems a little faster as well.

bb_qm_peer is BBM. But if you're having a problem with that, I would recommend that you try reinstalling.

I think, it should already be enough to remove BBM, re-boot and install BBM again...

    Hi,

the East Asian version is here:
    https://www.blackberry.com/Downloads...4B931C35A169B0

If the link doesn't worklook for SmarTone_Vodafone.

Also it is funny that there is a different in the UMTS Files in side the package.

    rim0x04001507.sfi from UTS ~15.646 KB
    rim0x04001507.sfi from SmarTone_Vodafone ~20.126 KB

    Any ideas?

Nice find, welcome to the Forums and thanks for providing the link!
Re. your question, one member did a comparison of this a few days ago - EastAsian input seems to always come with a different radio file.

Thanks :hail: for the welcome to the forums of . Hope we ll have a good time. Also thanks for the link. Seems so that i ll see something pretty much without the fog now :Eyecrazy:

Some words to the os, imho it is running well stable. And it seems the first version since 5.0.0.344 which won't be losing the contact to my BIS after some hours.
At the moment after some days it seems perfect.

    Have a nice weeekend.

    Welcome to you as well

It should work, but you have to delete the vendor.xml (search for it on your PC) prior to uploading it to your berry.

If you are new to this, please check our help centre first, e.g. this how to,
and let us know, if we can be of any help!
