I'm on ATT in New York, would any of these versions work "better" than another?
I think, you should be fine with any of the multi-language versions (just make sure to delete the vendor.xml from the PC).
I've been using the one from MTC Touch for my 9700. So far it is very good. Didn't notice any problem or glitches. I am downloading the eastasia from Vodafone and will install it to my wife's 9700.
She is having problems with her 423 build. apparently her BIS service dropped frequently in result she doesn't even know when data connection was lost. Hopefully this 442 will help solve this issue.
With most of my apps installed and been running for more than a week without Battery pull, on my App world, it shows I still have about 115MB space left. Which I think is really good.... because previously with the Bold 9000, all I left was about below 10MB....9700 is the BEST for now.
im getting a tad sluggish moments with the 442. it will just come and go suddenly. network wise aint any better. perhaps its due to it being tuned for specific carrier? my carrier in SG has not come out with anything other than 321.![]()
EastAsia didnt work on my wife's Bold. So I changed to MTC Touch and it works perfectly. I am not sure why EastAsia version didnt work because I constantly getting time out from BIS. Downloading Appworld or other messengers, it just stopped there for a long long time before it continues to download.
Don't know anyone have these kind of problem with the EastAsia version...but so far MTC version is really good...Highly recommended.
Hi Temperamentalman....no prob during the installation..Wiped the device using BBSAK and install the EastAsia version. and did the same to the MTC version.
I didn't install any other language pack during the installation..Just left it as it is in English. Yeah maybe different radio files causes this.
The browser, camera and media files indeed load faster than .423. but battery life also go with it. I guess "faster" need more power. Well, I can live with that.

By browsing through the forums I can see that at least one other member here (forgot his name) has the same problem I do: Docs To Go won't install on this OS. I only recently noticed this because I usually use the laptop to deal with Office files. I have reinstalled the OS 3 times to no avail, forcing me to download it OTA from DataViz' website.
Hi GTR83
I faced the same issue..but I don't treat this as a big problem though...Install thru OTA is fine...No prob...
I notice some sluggishness on this build as well which randomly comes and goes. For the most part it works fine but the intermittent issues are quite annoying.
Even when deleting large amount of mail messages it would hang for a while (this didn't use to happen in previous builds).
Also in games, it tends to lock up intermittently not sure if this is the game's issue but I tried several and they all exhibit same symptoms which is consistent with the sluggishness.
Btw, I installed this on a totally clean install after wiping with BBSak so I doubt it's a faulty install.
For those interested on an Indonesian OS, here's a link. Note that Indonesian carriers support ALL the world's frequencies so this should fit basically anyone. It's XL's rendering of .442.

EDIT : it only has English as its language.

I will give it a try.
Just be cautious that there are like a million BB users in Indonesia, so our servers could be very crowded... I tried downloading it 3 times last night to no avail.
TheOnlyJrod: yeah my other friends on 442 having those issues as well. Battery life is also horrendous. There's some bug in this build (or some incompatibility) as it seems the other people did not report these issues in their reports.
hi all runing MTC Touch version and so far phone is good, im having some 3G problems but i think its my carrier here in venezuela, runing it in a AT&T
