Thread: Boot up time on 5.0.0.423

Is there going to be a new version soon just want it to boot up quicker since this 5.0.0.2.3.4 is taking too long to start up
the one before this one was fast and had now problens

I don't think the version matters. It seems to be something with OS5. I went from an 8320 with OS4.5 to the 9700 and that was the first thing I noticed. Boot up took 4-5 minutes +. My 8320 didn't take nearly as long. I wonder if people with the Bold 9000 have the same problem.

First, welcome to ! Your startup times with 5.0 after the initial install and battery pulls should be DRASTICALLY faster than a 4.X OS.

booting up fresh os 423 installed on mine is < 3 mins.

Same here...boot up time is mins

I've wiped and reloaded .423 12 times on 3 9700's (don't ask lol) Every time I've done a full restore, boot up time has been 5-6 mins. If I do a selective restore, basically contacts, tasks, memos, calendar entries, autotext entries and all options, boot up time is less than 2 mins. I've done both enough times that I can confidently say there is definitely something to this.

Update: loaded .423, loaded w/ apps, not one hiccup. Hmmm. Too soon to say for sure but looks like i had a dud.
