5.0.0.421 for the 9700 Findings and Fixes

Well if the 9700 doesn't have enough leaks here is another.. this one again includes the new bbm 5.0.0.54. So enjoy. Its crazy the amounts of leaks we are seeing for this device.

Warning: Please remember that this IS NOT an official release OS. If you wish to install this OS keep in mind that this may cause your phone to not function correctly. BlackberryOS and any other BlackberryOS Official sites are not responsible. If you are not comfortable and/or unsure as how to upgrade to this OS, please click the link below.

This device must have more problems than the Storm 1 did on launch.
Can't believe all the builds that are getting out for this device.

415 has been real solid for me so might wait this out for a bit.
I wonder what carrier all these are comming from?
although there is nothing like waking up to a bbos alert on saturday morning i kinda wish i had my phone on silent right now. i was pretty tired...:irked:

Just a quick post, this definitely fixes the phone_app crashing on reboot (on 415).

    More to come.

    Thanks jnepsa/mepascal

I hope this version is better on the battery than .415.. I had to go back to .405 cause the battery life on it was so much better.

This OS still has the SMS corruption problem. It seems to be independent of BBM since I didn't have it installed when it corrupted it on a reboot.
Also, the version of BBM that is included is 53, not 54. Don't install it with loader and do it OTA.

No problems at all. I really think RIM is just pushing this device HARD as its new leader of the pack of its device line up. Hence more developing is being dedicated to the device hence more leaked OS's.

Talking Best 9700 OS to date!!

I've been running this OS since last night and man its SOLID so far. It boots the fastest of any of the 9700 OS's I've installed! AND it fixes the theme wallpaper bug!!! no more setting a custom wallpaper and having the applications screen background be all white and having to reset the theme default wallpaper and then set a custom as a workaround! Only to have the white appz background reappear after any reboot... The custom wallpaper works on the homescreen AND the applications screen! FINALLY! lol. So lets highlight the fixes etc:

    • Fixes Custom wallpaper bug with the new theme options!
    • Fastest boot time to date for 9700 OS!
    • ScoreMobile works with this build!
    • Comes with BBM 5.0.0.53!
    • AppWorld seems to work the best it ever has on any device/OS!

I'll add to this as I have more findings etc. As of right now my advice to all you 9700 owners is to get this OS on your device yesterday!

my favourite OS to date. solid, installed with no issues. fast reboot. cant comment on battery consumption, i have been using my blackberry a LOT over the last 2 days so i have had it plugged in a fair bit to keep the battery topped up (cant risk running out as my wife is about to give birth), this OS is stellar !

This release is very stable and works the best of all of the 9700 releases. Lightning fast when it comes to thumbnail viewing & music scanning.

There is a problem in the IP stack that is preventing my SameTime client from connecting to our server so I had to go back to .405 where it last worked. too bad I like this release!

Not sure if there is a network issue tonight or what. This OS seems pretty good. But I can't seem to connect to the BlackBerry network over WiFI. The WiFi is working. I can get out over BIS and direct TCPIP. But the WiFi icon does not go white. I can get to the network over AT&T 3G. But if I turn off the mobile network, I can only get to BIS & direct TCPIP connections. Network status shows I am not connected to BlackBerry.

Gonna give it overnight and see what it's like in the morning. I was working fine around 4 when I started the upgrade from .415.

Chad, are you using Sametime 8.0.2? Or the Sametime Enterprise Instant Messenger 2.5? I can get to my corporate network using the Enterprise version of Sametime.
