cant upgrade to 5.0 os on tour...??

hi guys, i got a tour yesterday and i want to try out a 5.0 leak on it but i cant seem to get the os to install on the phone. the os will show up in dm but when i proceedd i get this message ( only active bb subscribers are entitled to install this update) and the following screen says ( to enjoy the latest functionality from bb software update, youll need an active bb service subscription)...wtf?? :aargh4::omfg::aargh4:: ive never had this issue with my storm and ive change os' like they're shoes.

can someone help.

Have you tried an install through.

c:>Program Files>Common Files>Research in Motion>App Loader (make sure you erase the vendor file)> then there should be a small phone located in the files, right click on it and run it as an administrator and you should be good!

yes, ive tried through app loader as well and it will only show a language update and something else i cant remember. i even changed to run as admin... :-(

First, welcome to ::bbos::!!! Sorry I missed that earlier!

I would recommend you download the OS again and reinstall to ensure you have no corrupt files, etc.

What process are you using to install the OS?

ive used both app loader and dm...i actually just rebooted my pc, i had an update that needed to be done. i reinstalled everything and im hoping that helped...will let you guys know the outcome...

I have had the most success by backing up everything on the device with DM, then using BBSAK to wipe it. After the wipe, I use loader to install the OS, then restore with DM. I know there is more involved that just simply upgrading, but it seems to work better for me. I've changed OS's on my Tour 20 times this month.

lol wow 20x,that sounds like me with my storm..after the pc update and the re-reinstalls i tried to load up and it worked like a charm..thx for the help from :hail:::bbos::
