Guys,
dudes over at CB posted that the upgrade has been pulled by RIM. Didn't know if anyone knew that. For those that were able to update, Merry Christmas!!!!
Was there a reason given?
Nothing. No communication that I have found. I did notice that I was CONSTANTLY switching back and forth between 1X, 1xev, & 1XEV...but most of the time showing 1xev which obviously isn't gonna work. I'm not sure but that may be part of it. The funny thing is that while on the leaked version I didn't have these problems. BUT they were supposedly identical.
Is there a Link for the download....i go to the verizon site and they only have .40 as the newest OS.
Nope. There never was. The only way I was able to install was to follow the link in the email to the BB website and upgrade from there. The only problem is that it did not download a local copyOtherwise it would be on 10 different servers by now.
BTW, there never was an official "statement" from VZW regarding the release. Just from RIM. So, either there were issues found once it was dropped, or VZW had an issue with it. I hope it was VZW for the simple fact that they are more concerned with 5.0 than an update to existing software.
This really makes you wonder. First AT&T pulls .297, and now Verizon has pulled .53...
Well Brett I am glad I stuck to my rules of updatding an OS from a Carrier only until I hear what others have to say and in this case the carrier themselves and I am grateful so thank you for being open about it.
I will now wait several weeks as my current OS is working fine with no trouble and no reason to update now that it is a-ok.
Thanks for the heads up
Cheers
Jan
