I was having the same issue attempting to load .42 on my tour. Pulled all my hair out, came real close to throwing the tour across the room. 8 hrs later, finally loaded it with BBSAK. Only bad part, is it didn't back up my apps, so I lost all of them. I was just glad to finally get it loaded.
I had previously loaded .191 without any issues, then back to .40. I looked for any hidden vendor.xml files, but was unable to locate any.
Has anyone been able to find out a definitive answer to the issue we are seeing? It appears that it's not something associated with the OS, but maybe with the apploader app itself perhaps?
Has RIM started adding a hidden file with their beta releases that prohibits installation without authorization?

Chris there is no doubt something funky is going on here and it is definitely OS related because I have tried from 6 different computers, all running different operating systems and different versions of DM.

I have tried installing with BBSAK and no luck there either. I can only speculate as to what's up but it sure is troubling to say the least. I am on .40 and it won't even let me upgrade to .42 let alone .191

I know this sounds stupid, but sometimes, the obvious can be the most missed.

Could it possibly be the name of the file?

    ie: .40 = 9630AMEA_PBr4_1_.7.1_rel77_PL4.1.0.40_A4.7.1.40
    .191 = 9630-5.0.0.191

    Thoughts?

.40 is correct.... .191 looks like it's been renamed.

Everything seems to be at about 90% for me....

    Just a couple of questions:

-what are the internal tools that we have to delete?
    -what is the vendor.xml file?

The first 2 times I put .191 on the phone, no problems whatsoever......this is what's happening this time

    1) the vendor.xml file is usually ~300kb...this time it was only 1kb
    2) at the end of the load, it said there was an error with the voicenotes (can't remember exactly what the error was)
    3) typically, the phone would boot in about 3 mins, now it seems to get stuck at around 30% on the progress bar for about 5 mins.
    4) I don't have "bug report" or "quincy" this time
    5) I lost my "internet browser" and only have the "Telus WAP Browser" now

    Any thoughts?

RIM Internal Tools is a logging program that if not deleted before installing the OS (if the OS was leaked internall), installs on your device to log stuff and report back to RIM.

Vendor.xml is a file that is meant to correspond to the device carrier. Usually just delete it to avoid issues. Otherwise if the vendor.xml doesn't match your carrier, it may not work.

Yep, it's really weird and really annoying. I'd LOVE if someone could figure this out.
