Appreciate the tip, but that's how I have installed OS's for quite some time. DM is far too heavy of a program. AppLoader is so much easier..

I wished apploader would work but no it has not resolved the issue for several others with the same issue.

    Wink

There has got to be a common denominator here. has anyone tried using the force apploader?

    2. On your computer open up control panel and add/remove programs.
    3. Remove both the device software for the 9630 and 9530.
    4. Also be sure that RIM Internal Tools is also removed.
    5. Then go to C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Research In Motion\Shared\Loader Files
    6. Delete any folders that are inside there.
    7. Make sure you empty your recycle bin.

After you have done that, I would reboot the computer and reinstall .191 for only your Tour 9630.

If you have any questions or need help with any of the steps, let us know.
Appreciate the help, I haven't emptied the recycle bin before trying again. I have done the first 6 I don't know how many times. Let me try that and I will be back to report the results.

I'm just glad that I'm not an isolated incident. I thought I was losing my BlackBerry skills. HaHa!

Oh yeah Josh. And not make it sound worse than it is but I spent a good 2 days with BBcrackman and Cruz trying to figure it out. We really tried everything, well almost everything expect smashing my phone. I would love to think we're missing something and hope someone throws out an idea I have no already tried.

Well, there went my next step... Are we all running Windows 7 64 bit? Or are there some Vista and XP users out there as well?

I can't even get App Loader to see the Storm OS either... :irked:

Well, I'm out of ideas. I wonder if RIM is somehow trying to crack down on beta OS releases.

I actually experience this problem also when installing .191 on my already exchanged Tour, i kept getting "unable to reconnect to the device during multi-stage load operation" error.

I went back to 4.7 then tried .191 again but none helps, I did lots of Unlocking using MFI, nuking BB, etc ( I even do a clean OS ) it's weird.

I then got an exchange and everything went smoothly.

    Welcome to BBOS.

I wish that was the case. I have already been through 3 Tours all with the same problem. We'll see how number 4 goes.
