Thread: OS 5.0.0.191 or Hybrid OS?

So, I installed 5.0.0.191 last night and for the most part, it's running pretty well. I've found a few bugs, but nothing that would make me want to go back to 4.7.

For those people that have now run a hybrid and 5.0, which do you prefer? Which is more solid?

If you need any of the official RIM apps like AIM, MSN, Facebook, Myspace, etc, you should use a hybrid.

I don't use any of those apps. All the apps I use are working with 5.0....

I prefer 191 over any hybrid I have tried and I have much respect for the great hybrid makers out there like BBC, OOAK, Lyric and Irtehun. However, everything is just faster and better with this build. Sure it has a few bugs but what OS so far doesn't. I am not saying that Irtehun won't come out with something amazing soon but right now I am sticking with 191

Hybrids definitely fill the gap for those who are comfortable running a stock leaked OS and those who want a solid base or solid leaked base that is a hybrid. This way there is some enhancement and some stock.

I'm still sitting on the fence with this one, my ass is starting to hurt
I'm running Beta6v9 and love it, I haven't decided yet to try Lyric/OOAK 5.0 Beta hybrid or try this one. I'm really anal about all my apps working properly and not sure if I want to go through all the frustration of installing and uninstalling when what I have now works great.
I'll probably wait a bit, I'm sure Lyric will have a hybrid out soon for this OS or there will be a new leak out. I wouldn't be surprised if we start seeing builds in the .200 range real soon.
Also, if I wait long enough, Lyric/OOAK will put some 191 file in their hybrid. If I wait even longer, I'll get the Storm 2

On the .191 build only 4.7 bbm will work.

Usually the initial boot is the longest...I think mine on storm was like good 7-10 minutes...then afterwards .191 has pretty fast boot up times. As far as apps, it's difficult to say, as app developers need to update them to work with 5.0 OS, but they are limited on tools from RIM. Hopefully this helps.

No you can install .191 over any os (even stock if that is what you are running).
