Thread: OS 5.0.0.419 for the Tour 9630 Findings & Fixes

ok so i posted most of this by bbhybrids.net but here it is for you guys here. my initial findings are on sprint tour.

Using theme 3G there are some glitches with the home screen it shows a white screen and not your picture also it has 3 phantom app shortcuts for vids pix and music. the PRL issue is fixed the phone will re-register every time you reset your phone without you needing to do it yourself. the SMS from contacts is fixed. its a very fast build. i didnt try internet yet but i heard its very fast.... thats all i have so far...

People I've been chasing down are saying the same about the net. It's much faster. Now, whether or not this is phantom speed remains to be seen. Thanks for the info!!!

I really hope this resolves the provision loop with Sprint devices.

its officially solved on sprint... like i mentioned every time you reset it will automatically re-register and give you the latest PRL of 60658...

so far so good
boot time is about the same (few seconds faster)
i got an error but i did battery pull and seems ok now
I'm going to star testing all the apps and see if all of the work properly
i'll let you know if any issues come up

I put a copy in my skydrive if people are still having trouble with the existing sources. There's a limit of 50MB per individual file so I just used winrar to break it up.

Well ,i think this is it .419 may be the one ,at least before the official release
I have a theme that uses a lot of transitions
and it works faster and smother
And you have to see the bb browser to believe this ....
, no , no tabs yet, but is faster

some people is talking about an built in app updater but i ca find it any where
any of you guys can check that out?

Hybrid 50v8.0 (5.0.0.419)

And I love it, Downloads faster, IMO, No PRL issues so far Very happy. :07:

I'm not sure about the increase in net speed. According to a speedtest I just ran 419 is no faster than 230. The increase in speed could be due to better rendering of pages but the network didn't change.

This may sound stupid and I am surprised I am even saying it. BUT the overall speed/performance seems to be a lot better then what .230 seemed to be.

Just finished downloading and installing. Everything seemed to go smoothly, with the exception that I had to reset my icon arrangement, etc. Also, some 3rd party apps had to be re-registered. I'm probably missing something there, so if anyone wants to enlighten me, feel free!

I do kind of miss the 3G logo, I'll admit.

I'll report back later...

This is a great release! I have yet to find any issues. I wouldn't be surprised if this is a leak of what is going to be the official release.

Boot up is a little faster
Very snappy performance
The SMS icon is now Amber in color so you can tell the difference SMS and BBM notification icons.
They also have the phone number displayed above the SMS reply box for quick call option.
I had a 15MB gain in space after install.
I can scroll an entire article without having to switch to "Select Mode" in Viigo.

I upgraded from 5.0.0.230 without any issues. I'll follow up if I find anything else.

Runs pretty smoothly although I lost 3G LOL I'm stuck on 1X :\

Nevermind I'm a tard they just got rid of the 3G icon and went back to 1XEV I miss that Icon!
