Thread: Blackberry Storm 2 9550 Official OS!

It appears that Verizon has already been behind the scenes tweaking the OS on the Storm 2 9550. For those concerned about the release number being behind the times (in regards to the original Storm), worry no more! Big Red has officially released 5.0.0.320 for the 9550!

If you wanna be COMPLETELY literal about it, the release number is STILL 8 builds behind the 9530..... But I am just being picky here. What is the platform number of 5.0.0.320 for the 9550?

this the os that came in my S2 the platform is 4.2.0.124

Now we can "Shrink" it for even MORE memory !!

Yea that was the OS and plat (pretty sure about plat) on the one I played with at the Verizon store yesterday. Definitely nice and snappy!

I would think not.. possibly just releasing it so you can get it if you brick your phone :haha:

I have finally received my storm 2 today and updated the OS, all is good until I pull the battery, when I do that my browser disappears :irked: and I have to register in the Host routing table tab and my browser comes back up, what's the deal with this? I don't want to re-load the OS :no:, has anyone had this problem before?
Also, periodically it will switch my time zone to Mexico time and then switch back to Central and my radio signal will flicker off/on or keep switching around to different things.

I hare not had anything like that happen running .320 has been super solid.. are you running a hybrid

my browser dissapears to after some reboots/pulls

i now changed carriers, the new one hasnt activated BIS yet, and the browser never dissapeared so far (i did update from the first .341 hybrid frome OOAK to the last one).

When i did have BIS, my EDGE went to edge from time to time.

No timezone problem tho, unless i forget to remove the option in DM to sync the timezone, if thats enabled, it changed from the -3 from Buenos Aires, Argentina, to -12, dunno why (that happened to my bold too).
