Thread: has the BlackBerry Storm 2 9550 seen the last OS

Upgrade it will ever see to early to say but its still fun keeping up with it I seem the blackberry curve 9300 receive a OS 6 upgrade which brings up one question is it possible for RIM to say one thing and do another is it possible

I'd see the Storm 1 never getting OS 6 update. The Storm 2 is also not likely. The reason being is that the Storm 2 only comes with 256 mb memory and it takes about 200 mb to run the OS 6 software. It also has a slower processor than the 9300 and is a touch screen device with surepress, which is counter to how OS 6 designed to function. Also, the 9300 only needs 256 mb to run OS 6 because it is GSM and can run on less memory than a device with CDMA. So I wouldn't get your hopes up on the Storm 2 seeing OS 6. It will be the same reason the 8300 will never see OS 5.
