I spoke with a Verizon rep and she thought that the Storm 2 will eventually have OS 6 available. Has anyone else heard about the availability of )S 6 for a Verizon Storm 2?

IMO any carrier reps generally have no clue what they are talking about. Considering the Storm 3 will be out in a couple of months and BB6 is a memory hog, especially on touchscreen devices, there's almost no chance verizon will release BB6 for the S2. I hope for your sake I'm wrong but BB6 has not been seen running on a S2 as of yet.
We pull batteries, swap bezels, break contracts, and stay up all night. We change OSes like we change underwear. If our phones could make us fly, we still wouldn't be satisfied. We're cut from a different cloth. A better breed. We are BlackBerry.
Truthfully, I had heard the samr thing that you advised. I had heard that 256mg was not enough memory to runthe OS6 on the S2 but I thought that I would see if there was another data that said I was wrong.
Thanks.
Thanks for the information. I was under the impression that 512 was needed. Still the S2 only has 256 and not 284 but it does leave some room for hope.![]()
I do not find the Storm 2 (9550) in Verizon provider site.
Where could I find it ?
Verzion is selling the Storm 2 (9550) for 199.95 on their site but you can get it onther places for less or on eBay.
where can i download the OS 6 for storm 2 9550
You can't get OS 6 for your Storm 2 as of yet. There are hybrids however, that are a combination of OS 5 and files from OS 6. TeoStar has some hybrids like this you can check out here... http://www.blackberryos.com/forums/9...tml#post216012

Also, for anyone else who comes across this, the link to the OS5/OS6 hybrid is the closest you'll get to OS 6 on your device as OS 6 will never be able to work on the Storm 2.

Is there a hybrid that fixes the issue on a unlocked 9550 on AT&T... whenever you reboot phone service books disappear and browser is hot spot only?? I have BIS data plan too.
I have heard of this issue before. I don't know if there is a fix, but I did find some stuff online that may be of help to you...

Did that and get same result... battery pull or reboot and they're gone. Could it have anything to do with vendor file in OS?
Don't think so, but it wouldn't hurt to try and install a new OS and while your at it you can delete the vendor xml file before installing. A leaked OS will not contain a vendor xml. Check out what OS's are available for the 9550 in our Downloads Center here... Downloads - BlackBerryOS.com

I'll backup and wipe device, install fresh copy of OS and see what happens. If that don't fix it I guess I'll have to deal with it until I can upgrade to 9860. You have one I see... How do you like it? BTW thanks for input. I'll let you know what happens.
Also gonna try this first....

Good plan.
I love my Torch 9850. I had the 9930 but I didn't like not having full screen so I had to get the 9850. I'm one of users that need to have full screen and I don't care to much for physical keyboards.
