Thread: What's everyones thoughts on the best build for the 9550

I really dislike the .607 build from Verizon. It has locked up on me and my fiance's phone a lot, both are 9550's. The keyboard in bbm get really cumbersome. I was using the .517 from sasktel that I downloaded from here. it worked fine I think but Not sure i had it long enough to really play with it. None the less, I don't want .607. What's everyones thoughts on the best build for the 9550?

I've been on .517 from sasktel for quite some time now and can tell you that this build beats .607 hands down aside from having the updated BBM version and from what I hear, I'm not missing very much.

Feel free to load .517 up anytime...

Even with the BBM beta there is still issues with the keyboard. I say 517 as well. But I'm stubborn and staying with 607 until a new leak comes.:bigeyes:

I'm on .517 as well. Getting a lot of lag as well. Made me switch back to the 9700 until a new 9550 OS leaks.

I think .517 is the best build if you are just installing a straight OS. However IMO .607 with OOAK's .669 hybrid has been rocking for me right now. I don't have any complaints about it.

Although the keyboard glitch in BBM is still there, right?

I have heard of everyone having keyboard issues but I am not one of them. I am in 2 different groups and my keyboard works fine.

.517 was too laggy for me and I had too many ghost LEDs. I moved to .607 and installed Willboy's 1.4 hybrid.....which I love.

I was running WillyBoy's v1.4 which was great but i just loaded his latest v2 last night (VIP only right now for BBOS and Driphter) and ...much improved browser.
My 2 1/2 cents.

Well it looks like a hybrid might be the best option until they drop another leak. Hopefully it will fix the Keyboard issue.

Willy's latest 669 Brid is on Fya right now for my S2. Somehow, he's able to get 607 working correctly w/other files. I also hated the 607 OS but Will's Hybrid ova 607 is Flawless right now and NOT a single issue for me

hows the battery life with wiilyss 669 on 607 i did v2 on 607 and my battery was horrible i went back to 517 any results?

Willyboy 9550 v2 .610/.662/.664/.669 over 607 and giving that a shot now

I've been running .517 for a couple of days now. One thing I remember about .517 over .607 is the browser was loads faster. and download speeds seemed to be high and consistant. I as of yet (knock on wood) have not experienced lag that has been mentioned unless it was about the keyboard which has little lag but I am fine with it over .607. nothing unbearable. I think i'll stick with straight .517. I like the radio in that build. Plus BBM work flawlessly. Lots of BBM bugs in .607 and not just the keyboard issue.

Lyicidal's .669 Hybrid v2 (run on top of .607) is, to date, the best my S2 has run--no question :hail: . And, I've run more hybrids, leaks, and official OSs than I can remember.

I do not run themes, and I always wipe prior to loading a new OS. FWIW.

been on .517 for a few days now. I don't know about hybrids but as far as straight OS's are concerned this is a solid OS. 1.6%/hr discharge rate. been two days since a last reboot. The Memory is holding at 1.4Mb down since startup. I seem to like Full OS over Hybrids. I think this would be a good build to run a hybrid over. I think it has a lot of potential. there has been no finding thread on this OS....? oh well. I'm staying with .517. i'm happy with it. At least until something cool comes along. lol
