i'm a bit late...but loading it now.
Just loaded it, so far it's def snappier then .428, it also seems like the screen is clicking better. Maybe its just my phone but this is def improved too. Pictures def load instantly. I Shrank it before I loaded it which gave me more memory. So far its great! again, I don't see how much they can improve on this, but only time will tell!!!
Just loaded .451 looks like its running great so far haven't noticed any problems
It's true that image files load faster. The apparent reason is more compression - I'm seeing a lot of pixelization of the images rendered quickly, which probably indicates only thumbnails are displayed, with the full image loading slowly.
However, a real image processing app, including the display of "wallpaper," will not show the pixelization of the simpler image viewer.
I haven't tried enough different options, but with a "complex" image (e.g., fine color gradations), extreme banding will be apparent in the simple RIM image viewer.
This OS is taking forever to boot up for me..like 20 min. It finally does load. Im also having BBM issues with it. I'm going to try a wipe and reload in the morning.

To be honest w/everyone, I am not impressed thus far w/451 nor 497 Hybrid. It may be too early to decide for sure but, Sr78's V6 remain superior to me. I have 451 loaded and added 497, I do not see or experience any "Eye catching" performance nor extra feature that V6 does not have. I guess I'll give it a few days on my 2nd S2 to see if the speed improves or browser gets quicker. My primary S2 has V6 on it now and I had them side by side going from menu to menu and accessing all my apps. Both phones seem equal. My primary S2 I think may me snappier...May just be me but I'll report back in a few days and see...
so far this build seems solid to me. hope it stays that way!

Well...My sorry butt just got home from work, and I am trying to DL now...very slow. I'll catch up..Promise !! :biglaugh:
Downloading like Freakin dial-up !! :aargh4:
No issues to report. I shrank it down to remove the junk I don't use. Time will tell if I need to go back to OOAK's hybrid.
I shrank to remove unused stuff, got it down to 50mb. Seems to run good. I have also noticed spappier response in pictures. Hopefully the official will be .519 like rumored.
Taking forever for first boot up...shrunk to 42MB!!!
i haven't found a problem with this OS..the pics do load fast...
Nothing really more to report. Seems like a really solid build, snappier. Like others have said, pictures load faster and the screen is definitely easier to touch. I dont have to tap has hard. Not really much of an upgrade. But ill take it![]()

Hows the radio compared to .428?
Running BB 9930 7.0.0.353
BlackBerry Certified Support Specialist (v5.0)
The real test is having it run for about 3 days straight with a lot of action, no reboots and see if typing lag then comes up

I'm with you M.O.I....
Let's give it a few days...So far no typing lag but my battery has taken a hit. I'm not convinced it's the build cause I would like to see how it will hold up over a couple of days of normal use.
I am anxious to see how the radio holds up.
.428 was very unstable for me. I would see it drift in and out very rapid.
In one instance I would have 5 bars and the next nothing....
Hoping this build steadies that issue.
So far, things appear to be more responsive across the board. As with others, I will give it a couple of days to prove itself and in particular any issues with the radio. I have noticed a small increase in the free app mem but nothing really that drastic. After having run it through paces for a couple of hours now, noticed no degradation. We will see in the long run and still keeping my fingers crossed.
