    Blackberry Maps Issue on 5.0?

I noticed this during my brief stay on .328 and now on .230....

Blackberry Maps does not function correctly...I get the following message when accessing BB Maps or using an app that runs BB Maps...

"Your Current Default Services Do Not Provide Access to Map Data"

I've checked all of my settings, including my default map setting and everything refers to BB Maps...I've done batt pulls, etc. Never had this issue before...I'm not a big fan of BB Maps, but some of my apps only use BBM rather than Google Maps....

    Any ideas?

(sorry if this has been discussed in the findings thread already)

had that issue too and i fixed it by going into the newest backup i had where I knew it worked and doing an advanced restore and only restoring the map settings.

Same issue with verizon and storm2. Talked with RIM tech support today (not Verizon but actually RIM) and was told this is a known issue with the new Storm2. He did however email me the file needed to fix this issue and walked me through the process. Now works like a charm.

My problem that I still have is that with 5.0.0.320 on the Storm2 my BBWeather home screens no longer update. This was a problem on my Storm1 as well until I upgraded to .328 and then it worked. Now on Storm2 it doesn't again. Hmmm.

thing with the storm2 is that it might be their first storm and no file to transfer. those that had a previous can just transfer the map setting from a previous backup. I have personally gotten a few storms and 2 storm2's working again. one of those storm2 users had an old storm and it was easy to fix. the other didnt have a previous storm and I just plugged it into my pc and used my DM to update his map settings.

    Sunkast....I'm on Verizon..

Broken....Thanks for the suggestion...I'll fish out an older backup and give it a try...

I had seen that the Storm2's were having the same issue, so I wondered if it was a 5.0 problem....
