I'm running OS 5.0.0.328, however, every time I plug my phone into Desktop Manager, it wants to update my 5.0 Core Applications. I've clicked on the button a couple of times to update them and yet, when I plug the phone in again, the same thing happens. Anyone know why this is?
This is a bug in Desktop Manager. Navigate to your OS file and change the name. I just add the letter 'A' in front of the exsisting file name.
i see that ever time i log onto DM. I just clicked cancel. But sounds like if i do it for it to update it won't do anything.

If you just change the folder name you'll be ok. But I have notice when it pops up and I let it do its thing. I go the details and look at modukes. It always say that the media modules aren't installed. So why it dies that idk. Rim dm has w few bugs.
Where is the folder located? I can't find it? I used the bb app loader to download the update and put os 5 on my device.
The main folder is located at c: program files/common files/research in motion/shared/loader files/this is the folder you are looking for.

I do not have shared folder. All I have is program files/common files/research in motion/app loader, auto update, and then a bunch of driver folders, etc. I changed the name of the app loader folder and it no longer asks me to update core apps when I open desktop manager. If I check for updates manually it says something like "unable to update, a fatal error has occurred." Was that the right folder? Thanks for all of your hep!

Once you get there just change the name of your version. If you don't have a 'Loader Files' folder then I can only ask if you have uninstalled your OS?
Did you delete the 'vendor.xml' file? I was having the same problem and did a fresh reinstall of the OS on my computer but realized I hadn't deleted the vendor file on the first install. I deleted it prior to the reinstall and have had no update request since then. Check your Apploader folder to find the vendor file. If it's there, delete it and then empty your recycle bin.
i just saw this on mine, did the update, and now i dont have the white bars anymore...gonna reboot and see if it stays!
EDIT: go figure...a fluke....i can hope right??
I did remove the vendor file and I still get the update core application prompt at the start up of desktop manager.
