what is PRL and how do u update it

PRL is the preferred roaming list...basically tells your phone which towers to use when you're roaming. The risk of not updating may be additional charges when roaming...does not affect warranty. Use the instructions above to check your version, and if it's not 40029, while in your home area, dial *228 0n your phone, and follow the voice instructions to update your phone.

I am drawing a blank for what PRL stands for but it basically is what allows your phone to communicate with cell phone towers around you. Updating your PRL ensures maximum signal strength for your location. For VZW you dial *228 then hit option 2. But the method I provided in my previous post will help for other carriers.

Neo I don't think he is on VZW. So doing a *228 won't help him.

Psh! I've always looked good (laugh now) haha, but another option for PRl is dial *22899 it registers your phone and updates the towers, not sure if this will work for non VZW
