Relax, see if it will work like this
Disconnect the BlackBerry device from the computer.
In BlackBerry Desktop Manager, open Application Loader and click Next.
Perform a Battery Pull (Hard Reset) on the BlackBerry device.
Reconnect the BlackBerry device to the computer before the BlackBerry device finishes resetting, and complete one of the following steps:
wait until the drop-down list on the Communication Port Selection window changes to USB PIN and click Next.

If the DM has recognized the phone, can you get to the restore function, if not go add remove apps.

Hi pup, we're trying to restore her contacts a machine running Vista, we've got 3.5.1 loaded, this has been an ongoing issue with Vista, driver related I belive.

I can get to the restore function, it has the pin on the bottom... it's when I go to restore everything i get to the switch to mass mode part, click yes and then there is a communication failure between device and desktop manager

Are your contacts on the SIM or on the device, try again and do not enable mass storage. If that doesn't work...stop.

On your device ( to prevent the prompt ) go to Option/memory and enable mass storage support and yes to auto enable mass storage

Dont mean to jump in here on everyone
