Thread: storm 1 software ugrade through vzw

my friend is using the storm 1 and hes not very savvy so he asked my help but i am stuck. he did the software upgrade that verizon offered to do that makes the storm 1 like the storm 2, (fixing the lagging and keyboard issues). he did the upgrade but now some interesting things are happening. when a contact sms's him, if they are a bbm contact it comes under bbm and not sms/mms. its the weirdest thing. if the same person sends an mms msg it comes under sms/mms. i tried everything, and i even called my friend that did the upgrade and she says that she doesn't have that problem. just for giggles i went under the bbm options and removed the link between the bbm and blackberry contact and that didn't work either. anyone know what to do?

That's the way its supposed to be with BBM. If u do not want it to show up in BBM u need to remove them as a BBM contact.

He's exactly right. The point is integrated messaging. All of your BB toting friends in BBM whom you also SMS will show up under BBM. If you notice the logo next to the message in BBM it shows up as a cell phone when receiving an SMS.
