Thread: Voice Dialing Issues w/OS .328?

Sorry if this was in the findings already....did a search, but didn't want to go thru page by page...

I have an hour commute in the morning and again in the evening and rely heavily on my blue tooth speakerphone unit and voice dialing. I have been amazed at the accuracy when I speak the person's name and whether it's their "work" "home" or "mobile" number....

Since installing the new "official" .328 the accuracy has gone down the tubes....no matter who or what number I attempt, it never get's it right...it's so bad that the number I want is never even in the 3 options that it gives you...

Wasn't there supposed to be a "new and improved" voice system? this is such a deal killer that I am very likely to downgrade back to my trusty .151...

Anyone else with these issues or should I try a reinstall???:17:

Mine works Flawlessly..Have you adapted your voice to the system? I was experiencing your issue just a tad bit. I adapted my voice and its Perfect.

Okay...knew this might be user error...

any instructions on "adapting" my voice? or did I jump out of a menu before I got to that part......didn't do this previously....

Okay...still having issues...

I have tried "adapting" the voice dialing a couple of times now....still does not get any of my requests right, whether I'm talking directly to the phone or going through my blue tooth speaker....

I even tried arranging my contacts by first name rather than last thinking that might be hanging it up....no luck...

I know others have not had any problems, but my Storm previously was spot on with my voice dialing requests, now it is totally unusable for hands free dialing....

also just realized my left convenience key is non-responsive no matter what app I assign to it....this "official" OS just keeps getting better....geez...

didnt try voice dailing at all, because i dont want to mistakenly start a call while i'm talking ^^! but my left convenience key works fine ^^!

I've had some sucess getting this to work on an almost acceptable level by doing several things:

1-Run DM and see if it updates your Core System & Core Applications. I downloaded & installed my update from VZW the day it was released. Why DM wants to update it again is beyond me, but it's been alot better since doing so.

2-Try training VAD. It seems better after that, as well.

3-After speaking the command to call someone, use the side rocker volume switch to raise the volume of both the response to the VAD question, and the contacts name. I've found that on my BB they both were at different levels. I raised both of mine to max.

I just finished reloading .328 in the hopes that my issues would be corrected....

early indications are that it's still not working....my request, no matter what name I say is not even in the 2-3 choices given....if I can't get it to work I find it amazing that this is Verizon's official....I'll be back to a lower leaked OS within the next couple of days....
