BBCrackman's v3.5 Findings

3.5 Download Link

figured id start off:

I'm on v3.5:
accelerometer seems smooth as usual
camera seems faster then v3
memory started at 54.7MB (for me on slimmed down version)
browser seems quicker then v3
MMS works (can attach photos not taken on phone)
color banding still present (wont be if you use v3.5.1)
transitions between programs is smooth and fast

overall good thus far but its only been a brief time obviously

edit: i noticed my memory dropped 5MB in a matter of minutes sitting on lock but then after surfing the web and other stuff it went right back up. so i would not even worry about "memory leak" on this. seems to take care of itself once you start using the phone.

You said browser seems quicker than v3, but is it faster than .122?

only loaded 1 or 2 pages on .122 to be honest. then changed it around. i did play with camera with .122 for a few thats why i knew the diff there.

my cam seemed to lag a bit on .122 but it seems fine thus far on v3.5 at least on my phone

Also quality has dropped quite a bit on .122 anyway.

could be me too. i used my wifes camera on i believe v3 and it seemed slower then this one.

so does the v 3.5.1 have the 90 radio code and that is why it has better color and bigger keyboard? Any feedback on how 3.5 compares to 3.5.1?

3.5 is using the .122 radio hence why it has platform 4.0.0.153 v3.5.1 uses the .90 radio code and thats really for T-Mobile users for the EDGE to stay consistent

also im using v3.5 i have not installed 3.5.1 i dont trust .90 radio for verizon

3.5.1 sfi file is not as stable as the one used in v3.5

I Dl'd and installed bmerdinians .122 hybrid earlier this evening. Will I be able to easily run this overtop what I got now? Thanks...

i used his as well but deleted it off my PC and installed .114 and just put this over .114 just to make sure.

Would it be possible to switch out the keyboard files so the 3.5 can have the larger keys?

Findings:

None...because I have to be a VIP member to download it... :(

Apologize but i can't justify spending money to become a VIP (especially with April 15th right around the corner and uncle sam has his hand out asking for money).

Why not just release it to the general public, I would love to get my hands on it. V3 was great, and im under the impression the 3.5 & 3.5.1 will be just as good if not better all around. Im an active member here, and usually am very helpful when possible to this community here @ BBOS. Guess Ill have to wait till Saturday... :( :(

Yes it is. I had 122 for a day and the browser was good but v3.5 is a bit quicker.

Many people are reporting issues when downloading v3.5 over 122. So my suggestion is wipe the phone, install 114 then install v3.5

v3.5.1 uses the radio code from .90 so you will have the larger keys with that one. Keep in mind that .90 radio code is less stable

+1 thats why i downloaded but then decided not to even bother. ill let the tmobile guys have fun with that one.

It will be perfect for T-Mobile, AT&T and any other GMS members because .90 is the best radio code for holding a steady EDGE connection.
