You cant go wrong with the new official upgrade. As much as I hate to say this, I cant see anything yet that a hybrid could give that this OS doesnt already give. But thats not to say we cant come up with something....

Why are you being such a tease? Man of your loyal fans can't wait to try out your new hybrid which has been talked about for the past month. When will we finally see it. Some of use aren't really impressed with the OS that have been releassed and would much rather run something better like V10.

At the moment I'm very happy with Lyricidals .238/.296 Hybrid.

It has speed on par with .328, with none of the downsides.

Some examples of stuff .296 has that .328 doesn't

Ghost keys (i didn't know they existed till recently, but now i like them)
Working links in email messages (can't access web links in .328 or .323 from email after first viewing of message)

Bluetooth capability in media player is missing in .323/.328, dont know why. Could be my headset, but it works fine in .2xx level builds

And ofcourse, the theme issue doesn't exist in .296

That said, I'm really looking forward to the great new hybrids BBCM and Lyricidal are coming out with :hail:

I also had great fortune and am at this moment going back to Lyricidal's hybrid.

If you use voice dialing, the official update seems to make it not work well! I couldn't get one name today to be recognized - I never had this before.

I have also heard that BBCrackman's hybrids are excellent, although I haven't used one for a few updates.

I am not impressed with the recent version myself - even though there are a few issues that it fixes, it makes my most important functions no better, and often worse.

    Just my 2 cents.

I really enjoy lyrics 238/296, runs so smmooth and theme compatible. Great transitions, 230 sfi radio, fast internet solid memory and good battery life.

I would say straight .230 was the best in terms of overall performance.

You need to download and try different OS's and Hybrids on your specific Storm. For some unexplained reason different Storms react differently to OS's, apps, etc.....still not sure how this is possible when these things are all supposedly built to the same specs...probably the combination of people's custom themes, apps, etc. contributes to the differences....

My main issue with the "official" from Verizon (.328) is that the voice dialing is a POS on my phone....doesn't come close to recognizing the correct request....tried reloading, "adapting" my voice, batt pulls, you name it....this is a deal breaker for me because of my daily commute, so I will be spending this weekend trying out the other 5.0's before going back to 4.7.0.151, which was the best OS by far on my device....

    Good luck!

    Voice Dialing POS on .328

:yo: Damn, I'm not having that problem @ at all. I will check my bluetooth stereo headset to see if that's a problem. But .328 seems pretty good to me.

Crackmans V8.5 was by far for me the most stable and best performance, I never had any issues with it. Thought for sure by now that he would have released V10!!!

I think that if BBC says this is a viable OS, it must be pretty good. His Hybrids are, by and large, very good, and he seems to know his way around the 'berrys.
That being said, perhaps the reason we haven't seen a new hybrid from BBC is because he was waiting for the official release so more people could get caught up with the 5.0 base and be more familiar with it. BBC come up with some fantastic hybrids, but if an official OS drops before he can finish one, I think it proper that he has held back to see if there is something he can add to the new one to make it better.
I was REALLY impressed by 8.5, now I'm on 328 and hoping a new tweak will come with some of those files included.
Also, BBC has a private life and should not be expected to put that on hold just to deliver a new hybrid. His efforts are greatly appreciated and I thank him for that.
Have you ever wondered why things intended to make our lives simpler keep getting more complicated to use?

I second that. I love his hybrids as well and can't wait for a new release!

I loved the Xonz .230/.238 hybrid. It shows 3G on the phone and I thought my Storm 1 ran the Best on that one. For fun I loaded it over .328 last night and it seems to be working fine. I am using Storm 2 95% of the time though. Is you want the 3G icon its only in the .2xx builds from what I understand.
