Sounds normal, the first connection boot up is usually the longest but each time after will be much faster

This is certainly a hot topic and annoying problem. I have found one other remedy for those with Quicklaunch. Using the Lock Tilt option works on the main menu screen. If you go to the main menu and BB button then choose QL Lock Tilt you won't see the white bars anymore. Of course you would have to first enable the feature from the options menu in Q/L itself.
Just wanted to throw this into the mix and if you don't have Quicklaunch I would consider it, they just updated it again with some new features, it's a really great app
Go to Options>Advanced Options>Accessibility>Event Sounds>ON

I did notice something interesting that I didn't see in the 230 release. I am not sure if any of you have this release running on a BES (4.1) like I am. When I re-initialized it to my BES today i noticed an extra mail icon on the main screen. This icon in only dedicated to my exchange email and things to go with it, all other messages are not present. I thought this is neat. It also shows my Desktop name below it to let me know that it is exchange emails.

I don't have BES but I read in the other thread that several other members here at on BES have found that same icon and it's been a big hit, so it is new and a good thing too :cool2:

Typing seems to have improved, it feels like the old 4.7 builds when punching keys instead of hit and miss while being on the early 5.0's. I love the response and stability though.
I also ran across an issue when i loaded the OS and my back up files, it claimed i had BBM 5.0 installed, yet i was not able to find it anywhere on the phone, so i had to uninstall it and load it from the BB browser and go to the blackberry website. no biggie though.
