You have to download .230 to your computer, run the hybrid which will install over .230, shrink if you you want, then load to your phone.

You will need to save this to your PC. You will need to install a fresh instance of 5.0.0.230 and then install this over it. You can the Shrink the OS if you like before installing with apploader.

I ran it for about 4-5 days and it did seem pretty quick. Memory was great, but I did notice that battery drain seemed to be a little more than straight .230
Give it a try and see what ya think

Thanks for the info.. I wiped and installed , so far running smooth also noticed Reboots from Quick Launch work...

In the case of the 9500, you want to use 5.0.0.216 instead of 5.0.0.230 - basically all you are using from the base OS is the SFI file (aka radio file, actually the core OS)

Otherwise, the instructions will be the same.

Thanks Dave..., still a bit "twitchy" about these hybrids..., wish they would come up with a sound version for us 9500's...

Yes, I was a bit hesitant to try out hybrid OSes there for awhile myself, until I though about it a bit. If it helps to think about it this way, what a hybrid does is install upgraded apps over the same core OS; much like you might download an update for Office 2007 on a Vista PC. The underlying Vista OS doesn't change, the Office 2007 version is what changes.

In other words, by the time the hybrid is released; all of the compatibility testing has been done and problems will be minimal. For the most part, i've found Lyric's and BBCrackman's hybrids to be as stable, if not more stable, than the official RIM OS packages.

This particular OS was for BBHybrids VIP members before it was released to us, so it's had plenty of testing.

Hello All,
Was running .238 for a while,switcdhed back to bbc 4.7/8.5. Anyone know if this build fixes the volume issue w/ringtones & alerts??I really hate the vibrate on this thing.

I think everyone will enjoy his .296 hybrid when he releases it. The screen dimming issue in landscape mode seems to have been corrected:1244::1244:
