Where to get 5.0.0.230?

i cant find 5.0.0.230 to download fro my 9530 anywhere . megaupload d/l is gone ..

is there any other places to get the d/l ??

.238 is better. you may need to have .230 before you install this over it.

what is the difference between .230 and 238 ?? iam kinda new to this i installed .190 no problem but i keep seeing hybrid and kinda complicated to install is it any different from installing 191??

not much of a difference but i believe its more stable. im dl that file right now to see exactly what needs to be done. There are to many .230 and .238 files.

delte the .191 on your computer.
download this file http://www.poxdepot.com/blackberryfi...-5.0.0.230.exe

then download this file http://www.theiexplorers.com/bb/OSs/95x0-5.0.0.238.exe and then install.

down load shrink a os http://www.theiexplorers.com/bb/Shrink-A-OS.rar run file

Just be aware that this link is for a hybrid not a true OS :) but I have heard very good things about it as well.

Folks, i'm in the process of creating a new MegaUpload link. Should be about 15 more minutes. Please note, I have significantly altered the filename however I can assure you this will be the full .EXE installer without RIM internal tools (Quincy). Will post the link when my upload hurries up and finishes.

Vendor File

Can someone explain why it's necessary to delete the vendor xml file when upgrading to 5.0.0.230 or 5.0.0.238 on the Storm 9530? I upgraded my phone to 5.0.0.238 but forgot to delete that file. Will it have an effect on the performance. Thanks

try istalling the os and you'll find out fast why you have to delete vendor file

I did install it and forgot to delete the file. Didn't know if I should wipe the phone again and re-install, what to expect if I don't.

The vendor file is used by carriers to insure you don't load an incorrect OS for your device. Though it's easily circumvented, and not always programmed in leaked OS's.
