All java replacement results in continuous reboot cycles and device error 920. Cod changes app error 523, 200 etc. Let the experts do it

This MAY have to do with the fact that its a 9520 leak and not a 9550 leak :P

If it was a 9550 leak than it might be a little more friendly about running on the 9530....

    Same thing with 9550. I wouldn't say if I didn't know.

You know you don't have to believe me. Just trying to be helpful here. Don't want people to brick phones. But if someone wants to double check my findings, please feel free.

Sorry... I was confirming your findings. I was doing it before I read your post.
    I should have waited.

Loading up the 296 java now... I am a glutton for punishment :duh:

The SFI file STILL wouldn't be compatible; for the same reason a 9500 OS will not even be detected as an available update for a 9530 - the hardware ID for the SFI and the hardware ID of the device must match. Since there is no way to MAKE them match; the OS simply won't show up as an available update.

EDIT: even loading the Java from the .252 device emulator doesn't work on top of .230 (gives a 562 reload software error) so i'm not surprised that .287 files don't play nice with the .230 SFI

    Hey no worries

I have played with java and still don't know a lot in depth...but I love doing it still...thing is, if I screw up, I know how to get out of it...and many of our starters don't.

So...anyone that messes with any files, please make sure that you feel comfortable doing so...and know your way out if it doesn't go so smooth.
