Thread: bmerdinian's .122 Hybrid

Ok guys.

Please use LOADER and not DM.

There's 2 ways to do this.

The First way is to use the Hybrid V3 files with the .122 files. This will show build 122 platform 144
The Second way is the basic install of the .122 over ANY OS you already have installed. This will show build 122 platform 153


From what I've notced...They both work fine, but If you do it the SECOND way, you might have a memory leak.

I will post noth ways, and you can choose which you want to have installed.
BOTH WAY CAN BE DONE FROM ANY OS.
Back up your device

First way....with Hybrid v3

1. Download the Hybrid V3 file from http://www.brettwyman.com/blackberry/hybrid/hybrid3.zip
2. Extract files to desktop.
3. Copy the CDMA FOLDER ONLY and paste it in C:\Program Files\Common Files\Research In Motion\Shared\Loader Files\ (the latest OS version on your PC) "yes to replace"
4. Download the 122 rar file from MEGAUPLOAD - The leading online storage and file delivery service
5. Copy the JAVA FOLDER ONLY and paste it in C:\Program Files\Common Files\Research In Motion\Shared\Loader Files\ (the latest OS version on your PC) "yes to replace"
6. Delete the vendor file from C:/Program files/ Common Files/ Research in Motion/ Apploader " if its not there, even better"
7. Run AppLoader from C:/Program files/ Common Files/ Research in Motion/ Apploader

END


Second way...without Hybrid

1. Download the 122 rar file from MEGAUPLOAD - The leading online storage and file delivery service
2. Extract files to desktop.
3. Copy the JAVA AND CDMA FOLDER and paste it in C:\Program Files\Common Files\Research In Motion\Shared\Loader Files\ (the latest OS version on your PC) "yes to replace"
4. Delete the vendor file from C:/Program files/ Common Files/ Research in Motion/ Apploader " if its not there, even better"
5. Run AppLoader from C:/Program files/ Common Files/ Research in Motion/ Apploader

Use @ your OWN risk !!!!!!

if no shared folder means you dont have an OS installed. install .76 or 114 whatever you want !

well what is the best one to stat off of, i obviously have .75 installed cuz my phone is running it now, i was using .113 before.. but is .114 better to build off of?


if other than .113 anyone got a link?

Neolantis can answer that. I did the 114 but ended up with v4.7.0.114 Platform 4.0.0153 if you want to use that then it's ur choice. That is another hybrid too.
But if u want to use the .122 with 153 then you just have to psate the CDMA files as per Neolantis and my thread over CDMA and the files inside JAVA into the files inside the JAVA

Just use whatever you have installed. Should not matter which OS you have (at least in my opinion)

I update from 113 without a problem so it shouldn't be an issue. Keep going your good.

i see.... but with the stock .75 installed on my pc there is no shared folder.. does this mean i have to install an updated os first? i guess i'm just going to put .113 back on pc and slap those files in there before updating phone..

I actually was unlucky enough to format my PC today...

so in the process i had to re-install everything.

I ended up re-installing the straight 114 leak, then copying the files over and it worked perfectly.

If you have more questions we are here.

Anyone try this yet? How does it compare to BBC Hybrid v3? ...better, worse?? I'm happy w v3, but of course, we're all looking for the next best thing.

It's still too soon to say, but I have no complaints yet.

My memory is a bit leaky, but I don't want anyone to freak on that yet. I havn't even pulled my batterry once and it's down to 30 from 40 since it first came out today. (what's that 6 hrs. approx?)

Once we get to 48 hrs or 72 we will have a better idea. Try it out!

I cant say BBCM's V3 is bad it is one of the best stable ones. Dont forget that this is a new Leaked Official OS

So if you read my Thread these are the plus stuff there is one thing im trying to fix though, which is the mem leak !!!

Damn I will say that on .122 they hit the turbo booster on the phone volume. It's much louder than it was before. Almost blew out my eardrums updating PRL.

alright guys worked sooper dooper, only problem i have left is i cant find my bb maps .. isnt in the desktop manager anywhere... neither are the core apps that usually show up, just a list of my 3rd party apps... maybe i screwed something up with reloading them?

How did u load it? use DM and see if they are there. and load from there
