Hi. This is download link.
OFFICIAL 4.7.0.181 For the 9500 from Vodafone
It's the real deal...
Storm GSM users are catching some breaks this week...
Hopefully 9530 officials are not that far behind.
You guys know what to do...
Didn't Vodafone JUST release .173 last month?
Must be nice to be with a provider who can release a new OS more often than once or twice a year......
On a side note (and this is a serious question) - does anyone think that the browser vulnerability in lower 4.7 builds that VZW seems to be taking it's sweet time doing anything about is sufficient enough reason to get out of one's contract without paying an ETF? After all, I should not be FORCED to run an OS with a security risk on a device that is SUPPOSED to be all about security. (by forced, I mean the latest official is so old it has the bug)
Yeah Vodafone UK did....
This is Vodafone Germany...
Lol, Vodafone India is at .167![]()

Running 5.0.0.425 /.4xx Hybrid post Shrink A OS! [Thank you Lyricidal for Shrink A OS!]
Is there any risks in installing this OS for my region? Currently downloading btw. TIA![]()
Hmm...I'm not sure what a vendor file is, I've never updated my OS other than OTA. So the OS updates I got have always been older ones. Can you tell me what a vendor file is and how to delete it? Sorry if I keep firing up the question marks
Also, great site for a great handheld device![]()
Sure can once you have the OS installed on your PC navigate to the following folder
C-program files-common files-research in motion-app loader----scroll down and you should see a file labeled vendor.xml just delete that, don't forget to empty your recycle bin as well.
It looks like this
In the same folder you will see a file called loader.exe after you delete the vendor file. Double click and launch that to load the OS on your phone
Looks like this

Wow thanks for the quick reply, with pics even!Clickin' on the scales icon now!
Now if I'm not mistaken, this vendor file is some sort of localization database of the OS?
Thanks and anytime![]()
The vendor.xml is the file that tells Loader.exe what specific carrier-branded device to you have.
When the vendor.ml is removed or empty, the OS will load to ANY device of the specific model the OS is for, irregardless of the carrier branding (i.e., the vendor ID.) Once a carrier decides to make a public release of an OS they have been testing, the carrier simply adds the vendor.xml file to it and the OS is now "branded" to that carrier.
does it mean that verizon is going to come out with another os also...when i looked into my about section in my storm it says running os 4.7.0.148(platform) 4.0.0.181? or is it the same?
anyone use .181 java on .167?

It would appear that nobody has commited to this Os. Any comment seen are from 9530 users and quite frankly would not know the difference. I`m going to see if any benefit can be derived by using this as a base Os for the Lyric 6v10 instead of 4.7.0.141 which I have been using for some months now. I`m not convinced there is a usable Os 5.0.0.xxx at this point in time. There is just no official release as yet!! and too many issues have been reported. My thinking behind this is that the Germans are perfectionists and what they release for public consumption will be good.
