Wiping with JLCmdr before updating OS

I always do a wipe before updating my OS with JLCmdr. I always thought that it clears the OS system and everything off the phone. I think it just clears everything but the OS and core Apps. After I do the wipe and run AppLoader, it always comes up and says "Update" after the 4.7 Core App.
and "Install" after everything else. Does it actually clear everything off the BB?

It says update core, if your DM is set to check updates automatically.

If you don't want it to, follow these instructions:
in control panel, add/remove programs, choose the desktop software and select uninstall/modify.
go through the processto either modify or reinstall.
when it gets to the point where there are check boxes, choose not to automatically check for updates.
If I find the real instructions I will repost.

JLC wipes the application software off of the device.

They need to come out with a 64-bit version of JLCmdr. I cannot use it on my computer so I have to use CrackUtil.

Both of them actually do the same job and are very comparable to one another.

I have a question. Now do I need to do all of the wipe options one after another? or do i just need to do one? if not all of them, which one do i use for a complete wipe for installing a new os? never used this utility before but it looks like it clears most problems for everyone else. Thanks in advance.

you can use either one, they both will do a full wipe which removes the OS from your device.

Here are instructions using JL_commander: http://www.blackberryos.com/forums/b...commander.html

With crackutil it is a button in the program.

    Don't forget the backup...
