4.7.0.114 with platform .144
IIRC that is what it is supposed to be.
I seem to remember some sort of registering with the network?
Thanks again for all your help. Smooth as silk!
Yes that is correct. Make sure now to do the following to get the most benefit out of the OS:
1. Resend Service Books
2. Dial *228 option 1, then dial *228 option 2
3. On the phone go to Options - advanced options - Host Routing Table - Press the BB button - click Register now
4. Then do at least 2 battery pulls leaving the battery out for 30 seconds after each pull.
Once you do this your phone will be flying.
OR
Over the Web
Pick your Service Provider from the list on this page.
Click the Like button to thank me.

OK, its been a day and I'm finally doing all the other stuff you guys asked me to do. I have done all but #1 from jlevy73's post. Can't seem to find how to resend service books. Did a search and have read through a number of threads but nothing is popping out.
Outside of this I was also seeing a pop-up after reboots telling me that "A SIM card has been inserted. Do you want xxxx to automatically choose CDMA or GSM based on the best signal strength?" or something similar. I answered yes to the question but only after I got annoyed with it coming back all the time when I said no...
Thanks again for all the help. Its nice to know that all you guys are here with the knowledge to basically fix just about anything.

OK. Found how to resend service books in a thread. I'll post after I've used v3 for awhile. I've been happy with what I've seen so far. Thanks BBC!!
I would have been happy to show you how to send service books but glad you found. Because the Storm is a world phone in the US it will use CDMA however overseas it uses the SIM card to for GSM. A lot of people have posted you can save some battery life by choosing the CDMA option. You can change this manually by doing the following.
Options - MObile Network - Click Network technology - change global to 1XEV. If you travel outside the US you will want to change it to Global. But for the states 1XEV is all you need.
I travel a lot overseas and in areas where VZW does not cover. If you go onto their their website for international coverage just tell them you are traveling to a country they do not cover. They will then unlock your SIM card so that when you go buy a local SIM card and use that while traveling. Hope that helps.
