ok just reinstalled v3 ands working much better but im still fuzzy on how to restore my contact list and such without restoring the entire backup cause i assume it would put me back to the .114 v3 install that wasnt working well as all. also should i be installing the updates dm suggests every time i open it?

Why can't you go to Advanced in backup and just select your contacts to transfer?
