    Memory Issues with 5.0.0.230?

Anyone else having low free app memory on .230? I've been quite pleased since I finally upgraded from .151, but my memory numbers are some of the lowest I've had in a while....booting up at 30 mb and drops into mid to low 20's by the end of the day....I was booting up at 40 mb and staying in the mid 30's on .151 on average..

I thought I had heard that the new 5.0 OS's were providing better free memory, but not getting that with the latest leak....my Storm definitely starts to lag when the numbers drop....even w/o Meterberry I can tell when the memory starts to drop....

For me .230 is even better than .191 for memory. Even themes aren't leaking. Something must be up with an application or perhaps a corrupt data file

I'm in the 40's if I don't use Opera Mini 5 beta. That thing is very buggy and so I expect it to use up memory.

I lose about 20mb a day using stock theme and running no apps in the background. But I can live with it as long as the phone keeps on doing its thing.

I start off with 36MB at the beginning of the day, and at day's end, I'm holding around 15MB. I'm not running much in the way of apps or themes.

I guess it's just the nature of OS .230.

Sorry you're having problems with memory C6. 230 has been solid as a rock for me. I might suggest that you start with just a base OS and add your 3rd party programs one at a time with some testing time inbetween loads. This would allow you to find the program that is probably your memory issue.

If you have everything already loaded (most probable), then maybe just the reverse, delete one program at a time to see if your memory improves.

I know it's a pain, but I don't believe your problem is 230. My personal experience and the reports from others indicate it is a very good build for memory.

    Hope you find the problem.

My memory has been really good with this build, just wish there was more of it. Are any of you running the app world or may be have Quincy still installed? I had to delete the app world as it was causing a leak.

Wow. That's drastic. While I boot with 5 mb less that what I had with V8.5 I've only lost .5MB in 4 days with no reboots. There's something going on with your phone.

I am siding with you soup. While I boot with less app memory, (approximately 36Mb), I don't drop below 33Mb. Add the fact that I have not experienced 1 random reboot. Stellar build.

I also only boot with 35 or so. Have all my apps running but I believe storm Slider doesn't function correctly on 5.0. I never got below 32 yesturday. My Storm ( I know they are all different) still runs very well. With the FB app being updated all I need is BBM 5.0 for this build and it's perfect. Even if my memory seems low to me. On V8 I was always in the mid 40's.

yes, there is a memory issue with .230 . i start at around 37mb and drop 15-20 mb within a day or so. i suspect that it is a problem with the combination of .230 and some 3rd party apps. while my 3rd party apps didn't leak with .140 they are not performing the same with .230 so it is a compatibility issue. they work fine but some(or one) are leaking with .230 . with the problems we have had between custom themes and 5.0 os,i suspect that might be a problem here.

it is not a big enough issue for me to start deleting apps to find out which one is the culprit. i'll just wait for another leak, updated apps or storm2.

i don't think it is the culprit, but try getting rid of the weather application (berryweather) and the lock software (i don't see that you have it listed), but if you do, try getting rid of it too. see if it helps.

thanks...but like i said,it's not that big of a deal for me...especially not big enough to dump berryweather. i'll just pull the battery every day or so.

good point...after thinking about it,it very well could be the weather apps causing the problem.it could be the issue of the icon not updating on the home screen eating up memory.

I boot at 35MB and easily have dropped to 1MB yea 1! I held the urge to do a batt pull the phone was running fine.. as I started doing things again checked it after a couple hours bounced back up to 15MB.. is it possible that it is sleeping memory? for battery conservation? I have no idea abuot this stuff so any input woudl be wonderful

Memory stabilized very well here and i have app world installed, facebook and QL ... no issue and I'm very happy with this build.
If anyone is using weather app it could be the reason of the memory issue, try deleting it and it might work, also some users have problem with app world, try deleting and wait to see if the memory will keep on leaking

My memory drops considerably throughout the day. I will start off with 39 and settle down around 21. I do not notice a performance lag, but being a memory junkie I always want my memory to stay high. I do run UT which I think may be linked towards my memory and battery life.
