Thread: Battery life issues w 114 v3?

Hi all, I've been running .114 v3 for 3-4 days now and am wondering if anyone is having issues w. battery life? I'm travelling at the moment (probably not the best time to be testing a new OS) and have noticed reduced battery life. I just tried to charge the phone (USB cable into computer) and can't get more than a 1/2 battery charge on it.

Are there any known battery life issues w. this hybrid?

I would try using the wall charger as much as possible.

There are known memory leaks for a multitude of programs. You may have to experiment.

Make sure everything that can be closed, is. Hold BBkey and it will show you what is running in the background. should be 5-7 programs running depending on what you have loaded.

turn off your gps if not needed.

See if that helps at all.

Looks like I picked a bad day to forget my wall charger... Left it at home and all I have out-of-car is the USB. I've only got 4 programs running, however after being plugged into the USB for at least 30min, I've still only got 1/2 a battery. I remember traveling w. the phone pre-hybrid and using the USB and getting a full charge, however I don't remember how long that took.

Oh well, I forgot the wall charger but DID bring a car charger...will have to make do.

you should be fine with the car charger, it is the usb that people have had issues with taking extra long to complete.

when you can, put it on the car charger and let it go as long as possible...you may get it past that half way point

You aren't kidding about the USB. I just checked it again and now it's slightly over 1/2...so it's definitely charging...just doing it at a snails pace. Something I'll remember next time I'm pulling out for the airport and when I remember I forgot the wall charger just think "oh well, I've got the USB"...

I assume your on a laptop too (while traveling) which can't help with voltage.

Correct assumption...lesson learned.

I just pulled it and off to the day...looks like I'm at 3/4 charge so that'll do until I can fire up the car charger.
