I just got .230 and am really liking it so far. My only problem is when I call or someone calls me the wrong name shows up, even though everything in my contacts is correct. I tried the battery pull. Any other ideas?

I would try doing a security wipe and then restoring your contacts again

I hope I'm not repeating anybody too much, but:
Does anybody else have a problem where when you set the sound profile to silence/Vibrate, then change the setting back to a profile with sound, all the ringtones come out of the earpiece? It's very nearly gotten me in trouble when I haven't heard alarms or calls. Battery pull fixes, but it's still annoying...

Hey guys, i've been using the first version of BBC .230 and I just cannot add contacts...It's really affecting my game and cuz I have to like memopad all the girls names so I don't forget them and look like a complete dusche. lol. Any suggestions?

(I've tried clicking the bottom button in contacts to add. I've tried calling the number then BB Button add, basically any way to add a contact I've done and it just won't let me.)

Check the permissions for the core and system applications. Make sure they are all set to allow. I would even expand them just to make sure. That reason seems the more plausible to me as to why you wouldn't be able to add contacts.

Went into Options>Applications>core and checked all and they are all allow. Any other ideas?

Brandon my suggestion would be to install the full version of .230. I believe BBC's 1st version used some calendar cods from 191 and this may be the cause of your problem.

If you just installed the OS to pc, go to control panel> add/remove programs> delete RIM Internal Apps. If they are on phone already, you could try max mem (OTA: http://www.berrycoder.com/maxmem.jad) or wipe and reload the OS, after you delete Quincy from pc.

Actually, for future reference:

The Quincy app is NOT part of the full install of 5.0.0.230 for the 9530 - it is the traditional RIM installer like we are used to from 4.7.0.x

My theory is that Quincy is ONLY included in RIM internal builds, and 5.0.0.230 is a build that is actually meant for carrier testing; thus no RIM internal tools for BB is included.

This is because BIS is being upgraded to version 2.8 by RIM. RIM expects it to be down for about 4 hours.

I have installed .230 and it works fine until I do my Enterprise activation. After the activation I get random reboots. Has anyone solved this issue yet?

Do you have a password for the BES? If so that has been the problem.. The other problem is you cant take it off and still get on the BES, your best option until someone finds a fix (if anyone does) is to downgrade

I didn't feel like reading through 600 posts so I hope this hasn't been answered yet. Just wondering what the little thermometer is next to my messages indicator. Also, a bit off topic, but is there a way to mark all messages in an email account as read? I imported an account with over 200 unread messages and would be able to just mark all as read.

Otherwise the 230 OS is fantastic! Once the weatherbug update icon is available on the home screen, it will be perfect!

Not sure about the thermometer, but you can easily delete or mark messages as read simply by highlight any date, press menu, and whichever action you'd like to take.

Thanks for the tip - I never realized I had that control. I thought the thermometer might have something to do with the unread messages but it's still there.

The little thermometer at the top is where Weatherbug Elite normally shows the temperature. But since the home screen doesn't update you just get the little thermometer without the current temp.

So WB Elite is the culprit. Sure will be nice when they get the home screen updates to work! Other than that, 230 is perfect. I've been running it for about a week or more now and everything works that I need. This OS is solid.

What I've done for now is uninstalled WB Elite (you can always re-download it from app world without having to pay again just by logging in).

I'm using BerryWeather (it aint free but its worth the $). The temperature badge doesn't update but the text description for the icon itself on the homescreen does for me (shows current temperature only, not conditions like it's supposed to). Just turn off the badge in options so you don't see two different temps. -This may not work if your theme doesn't show the text description for your homescreen icons-

I personally prefer WB Elite because I like the layout and the little temp. icon that currently doesn't work, but Berry weather is good too and many people like it better...
