My camera doesn't work? I am showing on .230. I downloaded both the one with several 191 files and the version that is supposed to be all .230 files. Wiped and reloaded a couple times, still not working. Any ideas?

I had heard somewhere that BBM 5 does not work with .230. Is this true? and If so any idea when we will see a compatible version for the updated 5.0 OS?

That is true, none of the "BBM5" installers work on .230 as of right now. Waiting on an updated leak of it.

You could try uninstalling 191 and 230 form your computer, rebooting, then reinstalling. Doesn't sound like all the files made it in the install.

Been running .230 since it's introduction to the Storm world.

Only until recently I've been having scrolling issues, mostly when it comes to selecting ring tones from my sound profiles.
The scrolling will stagger and bounce around erratically, making your selection near impossible.

I've also been experiencing some serious lag when it comes to texting.

Other than that, .230 seems to be a near perfect OS.

Looks like we need to change the default permission setting for the Core Applications.

Try this.
Options>>Applications>>
Now let the application list populate. Once finished, select the tab in the upper right hand and change the function to core. Now your core apps are being shown. Select Blackberry 5.0.0. Core Applications. Select Edit Permissions. Check to see that your default settings Connections, Interactions and User Data are set to allow.

VAD files should be in the removed files folder from which you can restore from.

How do I go about doing this? There's no loader (.alx) file.

Either use Shrink-A-OS to put it back, or copy the files back to the java folder.

Shrink-A-OS didn't work. Now I'm getting even more Java exceptions at startup than before. I'm going back to 4.7.151. .230 just isn't there yet. Yes, there are a couple of bells and whistles that would be nice, but the lack of support for many apps, in addition to many other little nits, just isn't worth it for me.

I guess I'm still waiting for a Storm OS that rivals the iPhone's. While each new OS has very minor improvements in things such as the browser, the experience isn't comparable to the iPhone experience. Browsing and 3rd party apps are so much better. Wonder what the Verizon version will look and act like.

What "Themes" are working on this hybrid without causing lag and or memory loss?
Does Appleberry or Iberry work? It looked like they didn't have the "today" feature that the old Appleberry had where you could touch the Calendar button and see the next 8 things listed on the calendar.
Second, where do you find the "Removed Files" folder I have seen mentioned in earlier posts?

I have been using AppleBerry 8 and love it, it does show the next items on the calendar, or whatever icon you choose, mail, etc.

Ok, need some help still... I did as suggested by uninstalling 5.0 from my PC, restarting, reinstalling, and then load to device... Still no camera. It says "Could not start the camera. Close other applications and try opening the camera again".... I have no other apps running besides default things. The camera worked fine before attempting the 5.0 OS install. Now, I have even wiped and installed 4.7.0.167 and still have no camera. My device does show running 4.7.0.167 on platform 4.0.0.205... However, I still have some of the 5.0 attributes like being able to hit the time to get clock and the signal meter to manage connections...

I have even tried the camera before and after restoring my back up file just to see if there was an error in there and have wiped using BSAK each time.

Any ideas? Doesn't seem like it has fully gone back down to 4.7... At this point I dont care if I am on 4.7 or 5.0 (would prefer 5/230) but do need my camera to work.

Please help!

Is anyone having issues with mms .... on AT&T... every time I send a message with a picture it will not send ? goes from EDGE to edge, when I was on 151 with bbc v8.5, I did not have this issue. Thanks.... running 230

I found that following apps have an issue with 230
1. Empower SMS - The keyboard is always visible. ALso the background pattern is no longer available. Thus it is a pain to type SMS or view SMS. ANy fix will be great.

2. Storm SLider - No longer works with 230. The slider freezes frequently. U need to remove battery for a reboot. I found a simpler way. Make a call to the 230 BB from another phone & when 230BB is ringing, disconnect & u may just get control before slidertakes over.. A fix is urgently reqd.
3. Password keeper - One u open a topic, KB pops up & then u just can;t make it go away...

I had this same error with my camera and actually had to get the phone replaced.. Beginning to wonder what is causing this
