Hey guys and gals!
I just had my storm replaced and would like to upgrade my OS again but can't remember how. On this one it says:
v4.7.0.148 (Platform 4.0.0.181).
I assume I have the .148 OS? Can't remember exactly how this works.
What is the best os to be using right now and if someone could point me in the direction of how to install it that would be great!

If you use RIM apps I would recommend one of the higher 4.7 versions (facebook, myspace, etc.). Otherwise 5.0.0.230 FTW

tamara before you do just thought of this and another user here reminded me, not all apps and im clients are working can you list your 3rd party apps and im clients you use?

Just my two cents worth. I have tried .191 and .230 and while they do offer some nice enhancements to me it is not worth having everything work. I have found .151 to me the most stable, complete OS yet. Themes work, 3rd party apps work, memory management is great, no leaking at least for me. I do miss the flick scrolling but the little quirks and bugs of the 5.0 OS along with quite a few apps not working is just to much for me. I went back to .151

.230 all day! The .230 BBC put out of course. its just so much faster. I went back to BBC V8.5 and although its an awesome hybrid I just couldn't deal with 4.7 anymore. :-)

After sticking to 4.7.151 for a while (which ran very well) i felt compelled to try .230 figuring I would go back after seeing all the glitches. Well it's been a week and I'm loving .230 aside from one music player issue (admittedly, it is the one problem if you listen to a lot of music on your storm). Really makes it feel like I got a completely new phone. Well worth trying and really an easy install.

sounds good. I will check out that thread. I think I will upgrade to the .151. I tried to download and install the .230 on my computer last week here at work and it crashed my puter!?!?!? wasn't pretty..lol..not to mention the fact that I am probably not TECHNICALLY supposed to be downloading leaked BB OS' on my computer at work....ha ha. Good thing I am good friends with our IT guy. LOL.

Ok. This blows! Plugged my storm in to charge it today and my desktop manager popped up with upgrades so rather than reading I just upgraded. Just finally figured out that is why my device is not working properly. There were some errors and now I have no bbm anywhere and lost some stuff. My camera is not working and when I open it it shuts down my phone! Ugh. Its .191 and I already don't like it. Unless there are fixes for these issues I want my old one back.

In order to get .230, you now need to load this file onto .191.
MEGAUPLOAD - The leading online storage and file delivery service
This will solve your camera problems and it should give you BBM back. If you do not have BBM back, download it from this link on your phones browser

Make sure you have deleted the rim tools from the .191 download. Hit start/control panel/add or delete files/rim tools 22.kb.

I'm running the 5.0.0.140 os along with Lyricidal And Oneofakind Hybrid on it and its running good...no random reboots, good battery and memory....most apps work good...except facebook and BBM5 of course which havent really been leaked for the 9500 yet....of course this reply is useless if you're running 9530....

I was using BBM and MSN for my IM's. After the upgrade to .191 my bbm is missing. I am hoping to get it all fixed up today. I am not sure if I should to the full upgrade to .230 or not as I use my music a lot ( I have 14 acres of grass to cut on a regular basis so tunes are REQUIRED! LOL). I also use my facebook app alot and really just want my device to work properly. I am not sure how to downgrade. I was looking on my BB Desktop stuff and there is an option to downgrade so I may try that. I am totally confused on how to do my upgrade to .230 and delete this and delete that. I have some BB programs installed on my computer and am not sure which ones I should delete and which ones I shouldn't.
Remember I am not exactly technically inclined. But I am getting there.

Tamara, I would really upgrade to 230. The 191 build was not nearly as good as 230 is. My music player works fine, facebook works fine, IM clients works fine. There is really no reason not to go to 230

BB Internal Apps for RIM Version 5.0.0
So if I want to go ahead with the .230 upgrade I would like to start from scratch since I crashed my pc last time and I think there were some errors during the install. Which of these programs can I safely delete. Then I assume I download the .230 file from the links provided from you fine people and follow all the instructions?

I've been thinking about this for a couple of days and didn't see a thread that addressed it so I thought I would ask here.
I've had the original 230 since it leaked and it runs very well.
What is suppose to be different or better with BBC's 230?
I've run virtually all of Crackmans hybrids with success and was just wondering about this. Any advice would be appreciated.

Yes, you have some things in there that need to be deleted. Uninstall everything except for the Desktop software and the Desktop Software updater.
