and then finally after some time the whole screen went black while the phone was fully operational

I should have mentioned this before my post.. I kinda a noob to this so what do you mean by 'shrinking'?

I used the loader to install the OS.

I backed up everything from the previous OS onto the new one, so I am guessing it loaded the apps and the reason why I am guessing because I dont see them on the BB or DM, so I cant add/remove anything. :/

Shrinking is a way to eliminate programs, applications and languages that you may not want on your phone. It decreases the size of your java folder (or the contents) and allows for more memory.

you can get back to that list of apps with checkboxes that loader.exe gives you, even if you are not loading a new os. it will not reload the os, but will just change those apps. you cant load apps that you never had before by this method but it lists everything on the device and anything you unchecked in the past.

Yes I did, and used it to reload all of my info to my storm.

reason i asked is that to my knowledge it doesnt backup apps so i dont see how it could have loaded them unless u did the workaround to backup your apps

Oh yeah, I always 'shrink' whenever I don't need that excessive stuff on my phone, espically for this installation. I only installed the core OS and replaced my info.

I don't know any work around for replacing apps. I only used the DM for backing up my phone and I have no clue to wheather it backup my apps or not.

did you follow the install instructions precicely... like install .191 to puter... .230 over 191, delete bb 5.0 international tools, install to fone from app loader?

SMS Bubble too full?

Anyone else having an issue were the SMS bubble from someone else is too full and you are unable to scroll through it. It just goes from the top or to the very bottom in portrait mode.

SMS Bubble too full?

Anyone else having an issue were the SMS bubble from someone else is too full and you are unable to scroll through it. It just goes from the top or to the very bottom in portrait mode.

I have not had this issue and have actually found that in "portrait view" my blackberry does not scroll to the top of the message.

Its definatly not that... it just randomly reboots. It was so bad today that I lost all of my battery life in 1 hour.

you tried completely uninstalling everything from your computer and wiping your phone and installing .191 and .230 and then installing to phone again?

has anyone had problems playing video. well it plays great just when i pause or stop the screen goes black and i have to reboot the phone so i can see whats going on. it seems to be responding i made a call on accident its just the screen is blacked out.

Yes. I have my voice dialing to work. Initially it did not work, but with some extra 230 .cod files it works flawlessly.

Findings:

edge to EDGE:
I'm using the .230 with T-Mobile on BIS. I find that the edge to EDGE issue really isnt an issue with this build. For some reasons, I get data whether I'm on edge or EDGE so I dont have a problem now.

BerryTunes
I use BerryTunes to connect to a radio station in Jamaica. It is the most stable online streaming media player that I have used for the Blackberry. It seems to work fine with the new .230 build. The only issue I have is that if I back out of the program or switch to another progarm, BerryTunes will stop. Kinda bitter sweet I think.

Opera Mini 5 works fine for me --- delete and do a new OTA install. At first it will be very slow -- just wait it out
