5.0.0.230 Findings and Fixes Discussion thread

After install was complete received to java exceptions for gmail and Phone app. Anyone else? OS wanted to do the reboot so waiting for boot up. Think I had the same thing with .191 and didn't cause any problems just thought I would throw this out in the mix

I wish the gmail app would work, I hate checking my gmail from the browser

I don't use gmail but no didn't receive any phone error. Let it boot and let us know how it goes.

I have downloaded, but am waiting for someone to say what is up with the different file dates? Any problems installing? Running?

No it is fine. I have been running this for several days with no issues.

Jlevy said that 230 was 'born' last week.. so the file dates are from last week.. considering there hasnt been anybody who can 'modify' the files other than RIM developers.. the dates will show sometime last week

It snot recommended just yet but you can try and tell us what happens.

I'm not sure what you mean by that.

What I mean is do not shrink your OS before installing. If you want to remove items do so after .230 has been installed

he meant get it installed and running and then shrink and reinstall later, but I have been getting errors shrinking any 5.0 I dont mess with it because you can leave out most of the stuff you dont want by not selecting to install it

Internet Speed: Pretty Darn Fast
Flick Scroll: Yes
Modules: 230 and 191
Camera: works with Zoom works with Green Box
Video: works w/ zoom (but not while video taping)

I removed the VAD, Video and Pics prior and am not having any problems yet.
