Thread: Ok totally new to blackberry been wanting to get one so I decided to get storm

ive had a storm(6 to be exact) and its a cool phone but not the best i say return it and get a tour or wait for the storm2 to drop soon.... just my thought after the issues i had with the storm

david 5452, I am a "reverse converter." I used a storm on the original .75 OS for a week and went back to my Curve. Waited and waited for the Tour, got it and loved it, and then was offered a 9530 for a pretty good price from a friend, in the sealed box original .65 OS. But because I had been reading the posts on this site, and had dabbled a little with hybrids, I gave it a chance.

I sold my tour on ebay, yesterday and couldnt be happier with my handset. I used one of Lyricidal hybrids, removed what I didnt want. The instructions were great for my first full hybrid. I have had no issues with it.

I second the comment about trying out themes. They can do a lot more than just change the appearance of the phone!
Another suggestion I have that really worked for me is look at the kind of apps that people have loaded onto their storms. Apps like QuickLaunch can radically improve usability without even touching the OS. I really like QuickLaunch and Patternlock, and I'm quickly warming up to the Bolt browser.
