Not being asked to downgrade or upgrade..

I had .114 v2 on my phone then the next day v3 came out. went through the same steps and didnt ask me for down grade.. basically went from loader.exe, click nexted, searched my bb and then showed the apps screen of what I wanted to add/delete. Nothing about the OS, I searched the forums of this and Crackberry and only thing people are saying to do was to uninstall the os in add/remove on the comp which I did twice now and then reinstall which I have down twice also. No luck with the downgrade option screen. tryed my wifes phone.. no luck. I tried reinstalling .75os in my phone which is in there currently then tryed to upgrade to the .114 no luck. not even using dm or the loader.exe. I have tryed it with the vender file and no vender file. No luck. I am stumpped. it has to be something stupid I am doing and missing a step. I had gone from .75 -> .90 -> 103 -> 109 -> 114v1 and then 114v2 no I am getting agrivated going to v3. Little help if possible.

Are you using loader.exe or the Desktop Manager? By the way you descried things, it sounds like you're using Desktop Manager.

I tried DM after 3 unsuccessful attempts at going into common files/ rim/app loader/ loader.exe

I have been trying any thing I can think of to get it to work.

Uninstall DM and any OS installs you have. Then reinstall DM and .114 and reapply the Hybrid patch.

Have you tried downgrading from DM 4.7 to DM 4.5?
We have noticed a lot of issues woth 4.7/
Also try the steps that Klypr said.
Make sure that you only hav one OS installed on your computer.

I uninstalled everything and reinstalled dm4.5 and teh .114 with the hybrid file. deleted the vender file and went to loader.exe, again it didnt ask me anything about downgrading. Currently I now have V4.7.0.75 (platform 4.0.0.94) Maybe this info helps. Let me know if you can think of anything else.

I saw a major difference with .114v2 and I badly want .114v3

You can try going to a command prompt and navigating to c:\program files\common files\Research in Motion\apploader and running 'loader.exe /nojvm'

This will wipe the device and apply whatever image is installed in DM. In your case, this will be .114 with the V3 patch.

Make sure you have a backup as this method will not auto backup your device. It will also not restore anything except for factory settings so you'll have to manual apply your backup and manual reactivate with BES (if you use one). You will also have to reinstall any 3rd party apps.

it doesnt really ask you to downgrade.
After startting apploader. i think its the third scree. It basically gives you 2 options.
It says, the version you have on you computer is newer then the one you are trying to load.
Do you get that window?

know what it turned out to be... That I Godd Damm HATE vista. I had to rt clk and run as admin to get the correct screen to show up for upgrade/downgrade the os. if I just left click it would just run for app changes. I tried the run as admin twice earlier this morning and it locked up my comp twice. so maybe a combanation of dg my dm to 4.5 and/or uninstalling everything and reinstalling everything. but I have it all updated. thanks to those trying to help me. I HATE VISTA.

Sometimes we look for the hard answer when the easy one is right in front of your face.

I have not been asked to do this either but I am running on .114 Platform 144 so I assume it loaded ok. I always wipe before I install could this be the reason?
