A while back I remember Lyridical creating the"Create-a-hybrid" app, or maybe I just dreamed it. Is it still out there? I've searched and I can't find it. I'd never used it before but I'd like to see if I can use it to merge the 140 browser and media player into 191. Is it as easy as loading both versions into DM, running the app and picking which things come from what version?

Good Morning 5 Liter Eater and Welcome to BBOS.
If my memory serves me correctly the app started to have compatibility issues with the 5.0 OS's. Seems like the app got pulled and users started incorperating Shrink-an-OS to fulfill the task.
Hope this helps. If others have a view on this I'm sure they will chime in.

i hear ya brah, but I was trying to keep it G-rated since I don't know how many people's mind are in the gutter and how many have made it down to the sewer with the rest of uslol storm, I love your signature, but I feel like it would be just as fitting if the quote underneath was this:

I understand that. On the other hand, insinuating something doesn't directly say it, and if people can't handle insinuations, then, really, they shouldn't ever go on the internet or read a magazine... maybe they should just avoid doing anything at all since it is everywhere today. So I upgraded to 5.0.0.230 and the media player still won't play WMV's that it would play in 4.7.x. Most play audio but no video, some play choppy video with no sound. So I used build-a-hybrid to isolate the media player files and used Swiss Army Knife 1.5 (nice tool BTW) to upload the two COD files but then media player said that bbrim_file explorer was bad so I replaced that. Then the only button I had in the media folder was the voice recorder. This was my first attempt at "hybriding" so I'm not sure if there is anything I missed but it would seem that the 4.7 media player is not compatible with the 5.0.x OS.

yes sir.. anything less than 5.0.0.191 will not be compatible with 5.0.0.230 or .191, and then 5.0.0.140 and .154 are on their own.. and finally 4.7.0.167 and .173 are comptaible with each other only.. anything under 4.7.0.167 is not compatible over .167.. does that make sense?

Yep. Thanks. Guess I'll live without media for a while. .230 is great otherwise.
Wouldn't it just be easier to transcode it to a different container like mp4 or avi?
